We all know Oklahoma is just a stepping stone program anyway.
Yup, first coach since 1946 to leave for another college job. First to do it because he is a pussy though.

LOL @ OU fans hating on Riley for this move.

USC probably backed up a Brinks truck and he can coast in the Pac-12 rather than beat his head against the wall in the SEC. Fucking win-win-win. You'd have to be stupid to not take this deal.
OU made him, it’s that simple. Wish him luck, he will need it.

Yes - Coast.

Less competition
Less recruiting battles
Less hours
Less stress
Less pressure
Less bullshit from fans
More being in southern california than okla-fucking-homa.

So, yes. Coast.

Ummm, 6 straight big 12 titles before this season
Well said. Four straight under Riley.
OU wasn't even dominating the BigXII. He'll do fine in the PAC, but certainly won't dominate.
2017 (12-2, 8-1)*
2018 (12-2, 8-1)*
2019 (12-2, 8-1)*
2020 (9-2, 6-2)*
2021 (10-2, 7-2)
Total (55-10, 37-7)
*Big XII Champions

I have no complaints. He did a helluva job. I'm not happy he's leaving, but what the hell...it's a business. He's doing what's best for him. It's a good opportunity. The timing is interesting, but I wish him the best.

it must have been hell to recruit in that region I think if UCLA, CAL and Stanford being lackluster programs that whole state is wide open for recruitment If he can make it at USC his name will be all over the map and would be a highly desired in the NFL if he wanted to go. The Seahawks could be an option (please god)

You know what was impressive to me - benching the over hyped pre-season leading Heisman candidate for a Freshman. That took balls, that’s what good coaches do.

This Fred guy has to be the most clueless poster on this board.
Or just forgetful, I mean, how on earth could I possibly forget that you Oregon LOSERS proudly claim that Covid 2020 3rd place Division finish where you lost to last place Oregon St and were Cali's only win the whole season as a Conf Title, lol.

LOSERS. Why I wasn't surprised when I figured out WSU has a better record from 2016-2020 than Oregon, even after Oregon took advantage of Covid. Take out 2020 and WSU thumps Oregon, 34-18 vs 32-20 over the 4 years prior to covid.

So to keep this on topic, won't be hard for USC to rise up and dominate the Pac with the likes of Oregon being it's top competition. So this move by Riley was a total no brainer.

I doubt he'll need any luck, this is one of the most understandable coaching moves I've ever seen, and NOT because Oklahoma is a stepping stone program or because the program sucks, it's almost 100% an issue of timing, first the move to the SEC and then one of the few programs that could afford to pay him enough with all those resources, too. Previous coaches have possibly lowered the expectations some, recruiting should be easy, he'll have more resources than he will know what to do with. For OU to make it in the SEC, they may have needed some fresh blood, a new coach whose coaching style can win in the SEC. Riley's style might work better in the Pac?

This is going to be very ugly for OU short term, and by that I mean a couple years.
