The USC boosters and alumni have to be on the verge of an orgasm right now with this hire.

Not necessarily. The talent is there to compete for at least the PAC Championship. Talent hasn't been the problem, it's been coaching. Despite all of the criticism they've received, they've only had 1 truly down recruiting year. They just haven't done a good job of developing that talent.
I can't disagree fully because it is the PAC, but these are not his guys. When he rebuilds this program with his guys who buy in from the jump, the scheme fully in place, etc, then championships should happen.

You may be right. But another thing to keep in mind is Riley is from the same Air Raid coaching tree as Graham Harrell who has had USC running the Air Raid. So, a lot of his guys are already there. Maybe not guys he recruited, but they are the type of athlete he recruits.

His biggest issue in his first year will likely be the o-line. That's the one area that hasn't been recruited well. They have basically had 1 or 2 that are NFL quality and the rest may not be able to start for a JC. lol

Question..............

Why Would Someone leave a good job in the NFL to go back?
Real question would be why would the top team in the Big 12 want to hire a coach who was fired from a school in the conference 3 years prior?

15 million in SoCal is a lot different than 15 million in Alabama.
Eh, sure but having local celebrities in LA mentioning you on Twitter to helping recruit means more than a famous Alabama athlete.

Understandably so…..

He knew it was going to be extremely hard to win in that conference. I’m going to lmao at OU and tx when they slide into perpetual mediocrity every year……

This is a great move by him. Great resources, facilities, brand name.
He damn sure had the brand name, he is a pussy, period.

Something of note, OU has hired exactly one coach with head coaching exierience since 1935. That was Howard Schnellenburger who was fired in one season. I don’t see OU going outside of the Bob Stoops circle of influence. Brent Venebles is a big possibility.

Sounds like the recruits are already bailing on OU.
