Elvis that was a heck of a play. Just like Eph did it in his time.

I don't see the comparison honestly.

The Rangers have shown ( with the exception to front line starting pitching) that they can draft and develop talent. Draft and development is something that we haven't seen from mark Cuban since he's owned the team. In addition, the Rangers have had some success in free agency ( Yu Darvish and Adrian Beltre). The Mavericks have struck out for 5 years in a row and looked foolish doing it. I think it's an insult to compare the Rangers front office to the Mavericks in any way, shape, or form. However, the Mavericks draft pick this year is tearing up the summer league and looks pretty darn good. I'd say it's about time, because Dirk was the last good draft pick that I've seen from that organization and he was picked around the time that Timmy was a rookie or a second year player.
Front line starting pitching is a very big part of the puzzle though. That is a huge indictment against this team's front office. I am not into basketball very much, but it is a lot easier to develop some good players when you have almost 40 rounds in the draft plus foreign free agents.

Also, Darvish wasn't a typical free agent acquisition by any means. Beltre is the last of the great free agent signings by this team and that has been a long time ago.

It's not a long term comparison. But the Mavs chase the last PO spot like it means something, and it doesn't. And if the Rangers FO thinks this team can make noise in the post season, they look like the Mavs.

But enough of this.

Our track record with the draft, and or the development of the picks is abysmal.

I hate watching this team and hoping that they don't win, so that they become sellers. Though that is exactly what needs to happen

I am not mad, that only tied the game and the BP has yet to pitch. Still plenty of time to lose this one

meh....not really. I cant really root for this team to lose, but as much as I love this team and think some trades at the deadline would be best, I just feel so indifferent about this season.

I do like seeing Jake Diekman back on that bench with his team. That guy went through some hell
