I know LeBron a ton of endorsements coming in, but it's still interesting that he's only the 13th highest paid player in the league. The best player in the world gets paid less than Brandon Roy and Elton Brand.

He will get his pay day after this contract if thats what he wants more than 3 rings. If he wants both look for him to become a Knick or a Laker.

Many Heat fans are convinced that the Big 3 will opt out of their deals and resign with Miami under similar circumstances, i.e. non-maximum contracts. Earlier this season Lebron stated just how underpaid he thinks he is given his production. I think if Lebron does opt out, he is going to want to sign that fat contract and it won't necessarily be in Miami.

To be fair, Florida doesn't have state income tax, so in a sense, he was still getting a raise.

Well, you shouldve convinced him to stay in Cleveland, if you want him to make more money.

NBA players get hit with the Jock Tax. You have to pay state taxes in the states that have them where you play road games. Of course you certainly pay less state taxes when all your home games are in a non-tax state, but because of the jock tax, it is less of a difference than many will think.

i think the big 3 all opt out and all resign in Miami. they have a championship roster in Miami. leaving and trying to build one somewhere else isnt as sure a thing as the one they have now in Miami.

and let's be honest here... they arent under max contracts... but it's pretty dang close. honestly what can you buy with 125 million that you cant with 118 million? they all get some endorsement money. dont worry about lebron, he isnt going to be missing his house payment anytime soon.

$7million worth more of whatever you bought with $118 million!!

Seriously though, with these guys, it's not about how much more they can actually buy because whether it's $118 million or $125 million, the list of stuff you can't afford isn't very big.

It's about being able to say that you got that extra money!!

So lebron left Cleveland ... takes a 10 million dollar pay cut just so he can win a championship. Most likely he will want to win more championship .. so why the fuck would he leave leave for 10 million or less extra money?

Because without the championships, you're only making "Allen Iverson Money".

I looked up Lebrons quote on being a billionaire and it appears people either cant read or hear properly. Lebron may very well stay for less money.

In the next 15 or 20 years, I hope I'll be the richest man in the world. That's one of my goals. I want to be a billionaire. I want to get to a position where generation on generation don't have to worry about nothing. I don't want family members from my kids to my son's kids to never have to worry. And I can't do that now just playing basketball.

With the Duncan's and KG's and Pierce's and Kobe's down to their last good years, his only competition for the most part is Durant. Give him the raise , he has "earned" it.

I'm not sure most of the stars care about that. At least not any more (if they ever did). And if it is so important to them, then that says even more about LeBron James unselfishness.

Let's also not forget that the difference in salary is not as large as it seems. Florida has no state tax.

State tax doesn't make that big of a difference because of the jock tax...
