1) We will have a fully rested pitcher coming to the mound versus a pitcher on 3 days rest that has only pitched on three days rest one time before (against the Phillies), and he got rocked in that start.
2) We haven't lost back to back games in almost three months
3) Our bull pen could not have been any worse than they were last night (literally) and the Cards had to make a death defying, last strike of the series saving display TWICE just to get the game to the 11th inning, where they stole the game. If any of the train of relief pitchers that we brought up had had even their normal stuff we win that game.

If you put aside the emotions of last night's late inning cluster fuckS, most would agree that the facts of tonights game favor us.

I would say it would be hard for anyone to say that its in our favor with Carpenter on the mound for the Cardinals tonight.

Carp hasn't been all that good on full rest thus far in this series. He's been very hitable. Also, this will make the third time our hitters will have seen him.

We counter with Matt Harrison. That makes it even at best

No it doesn't. You dumbasses have no faith in Harrison. A pitcher who has been very solid throughout the postseason except for some unfortunate events in his last start. When Harrison is right his stuff is electric. Napoli will be calling his pitches this time instead of Torrealba. Give the guy some GD credit. When he is right he can pitch with anyone, especially Carpenter on 3 days rest.

When he's right....what's that supposed to mean? Not exactly a ringing endorsement there, slick.

Good points but I think the have not lost back to back games goes out the window with the magnitude and emotions of this game.
What we really dont know is how the team is dealing with last nights disaster.
My gut says that they put it behind them cause they are a resilient bunch of guys who are very close with each other.
I like the fact that they will see Carpenter for a third time on 3 days rest.

It means when he has his stuff working and he's confident. Torrealba doesn't exactly seem to instill confidence in his pitchers, and his poor pitch calling sure doesn't help. Naps and Wash will have a conversation with Harrison telling him he is their guy and has everything he needs to shut this game down. If he goes off the track just a little bit, just stick with it. The bats will get them runs. Harrison's stuff is good enough to work similar to the way Holland did. Drop the curveball in for strikes, work the inside part of the plate, and get that sinker working.

Any pitcher can have a bad day, or great day. When Harrison is on his game he can be untouchable. How is that not a ringing endorsement ass?

I'm confident in Matt tonight! He was good enough against TB/Det and the ump/our defense (Kinsler/Nap) spoiled his game 3.

"We know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope." I'm convinced we'll win tonight!

If Carpenter isn't pitching that's even better. I'll take our chances against Lohse any day.
