Buyers at the deadline

it wouldn't shock me if the A's somehow go 75-22 over the remainder of the season and make the playoffs, only to lose in the ALDS

A's are just about due for one of those 3+ month stretches of stupidly good baseball they pull out of their asses

Also they won their 7th in a row and are no longer the worst record in baseball (that would now be the Royals)

Beat the Rays twice in a row lol

Baseball is weird like this, part of the fun, every day something interesting

Good to see the Royals get some national exposure.

They truly are awful

Really shocked it passed, all of the nays pressed hard and never got questions really answered. Watching those hearings it really seems like the public wants expansion not the A’s.
The argument can be made that the A’s, all time, could be in the discussion as a top 5 (or so) franchise when it comes to success.

Giants
Dodgers
A’s(?)
Braves(?)

A's are such a weird franchise. 9 titles but a .487 all-time winning percentage, though the Philly/KC years might bog that down. They've been pretty competitive in my lifetime with no real prolonged period of mediocrity (born in '91, only really the 07-11 years and the last few seasons), but not much to show for it. They've had a few dynasties (late 20s, Swingin A's)

Don’t know anything at all about Oaklands politics but what has been the biggest hang up with a new stadium. That stadium was gross in 2010 so can only imagine how it is now.

Half the stands will be full of road fans, as is the case in the NFL with the Raiders.
This is the thing I don’t get with the A’s projections of fans. They say there will be alot road fans. But how many baseball fans really travel to sell out a series? Makes sense for football, basketball or hockey when it is just 1 game but no way are they going to get 10,000 away fans a night.

And baseball fans are more family oriented or retired whereas football/basketball/hockey are more about the party.
