I wonder how many white guys Boston could get for Uncle Drew?
Prolly a bunch.
Prolly a bunch.
I disagree. That definitely is his new floor...
... we're not talking a fluke game or two here... he was putting up performances night after night on the biggest stage (playoffs)...
Now, his offensive numbers might have a ceiling given Boston's team approach to things... but we saw the guy emerge as a player and there is no putting that genie back in a bottle. That's my take.
Brown was more inconsistent and still has tenative moments... I'm not ready to give him my full endorsement yet as a bonafide stud... I still love him and his potential, though.
The C's don't play at a particularly fast pace and run a more deliberate offense than most NBA teams... numbers for Boston don't tend to be "eye popping"...The issue is that Tatum's most impressive facet in the playoffs was that he was the goto guy for the Celtics in important stretches. His numbers in the playoffs were solid but not eye popping.
I don't think the C's have a "go to" guy next season... I think they run a very team and system based approach... no one or two focal points or one or two bread and butter plays.flyerhawk said:So with Kyrie and Hayward on the floor, will Tatum still be the go to guy?

... if you watched the playoffs, though, you saw that Tatum had "it"... at least, that's my opinion. I'm not talking about leading the lead in stats... I'm talking about "it."

... this used to be a losing formula in the NBA... I think it's the next evolution of positionless basketball, though.
I see what you're saying... and you do have a point: not every play or call works out... sometimes, things break down... and it's great to have a guy like Kyrie who can create something out of nothing in situations like that.If healthy I'd say that Kyrie should be called the Celtics go to guy. He's proven he can hit clutch shots @ important moments. And very few can create off the dribble as effectively as he can.

But that's different than having a "go to" guy... where the play is to get it in their hands and let them do their thing either individually or with a bread and butter play (i.e. - give it to Harden and run the pick'n'roll)...
... the C's run a much more deliberate offense than that... and now they have the cogs to have triple threats everywhere... either 4 or 5 triple threats at a time, the big majority of any given game.
It's gonna be something.

Well... the C's got plenty of talent, too... that's the great part, a beautiful marriage of talent and new philosophy...I don't care what system you use, talent wins championships.

... I daresay that if Golden State wasn't the most talented team of all time (arguably), folks would be talking more about how crazy talented the Boston Celtics are.
I think at least a significant portion of Kyrie's "crazy" opinion(s) is pot stirring.

Spurs declined that offer apparently. Shit, I would too. Kyrie’s injury is a serious issue, way more serious than Kawhi’s. Seems to me Kawhi has been healthy for some time. One more injury for Kyrie and he could be done for good
Yup, He looks like Derek Rose to me. Could have been the the 2nd best player in the league and then the injuries derail him.

i agree with both of youOoooh, I don't think it is. I forget who I was listening to this morning, but there was an ex-player being interviewed and he said that Kyrie's old teammates from the Cavs have some stories about Kyrie's crazy conspiracy theories.
Apparently, he believes in more than just a flat earth.
He got stronger as the playoffs wore on... blossomed before our eyes...It's not like his playoff output was overwhelming; he got 18/4.4 on 47/32/85% shooting. His regular season output was stronger, just with 4 fewer shots attempted in 6 less minutes a game (14/5 on 48/43/83%), of course against some weaker competition at times.

To repeat what I said earlier: y'all are talking stat's... I'm talking "it"
