Damon Cogdell’s hiring at West Virginia is already having an effect on the recruiting as four-star safety Kendrell McFadden from Miramar (FL) committed Friday night.


Kendrell McFadden is one of the top safeties in the country in the 2015 class.

FSU....for now, as with all these '15 kids its a long way from signing day'15 but WVU IS looking great so far in the recruiting area.
That said keep in mind the coaches meetings are coming up around the 15th, that's when a lot of assistant wheeling and dealings usually happen. It could affect some of our recruiting depending on who else we lose/gain.

Slaton, he can sign all the blue chips he wants, but he's going to have to back it up with W's. I'm not saying he won't, just being realistic. One thing is for sure, bringing 4 star prospects to WVU... he can recruit.

Well here is the reasoning..if they cut him lose right now...the class implodes....and the program is starting over.......again...

This Head Coach needs an opportunity to get his OWN kids in...and then COACH them...this is not the NFL..every time you turn a HC over especially at a school like Wv were there is basically a zero base of in state talent to draw from every year..it is going to set you back "Years" in getting them back to being competitive in a sustainable fashion.

If the assistants get poached (like Gillespie/UT and Bedenbuhaha/OU ect.) it can hurt recruiting. If the recruiting keeps up like this I agree, gonna be pretty tought o can him next season, now if '15 is a bust then forget it, we have a Florida situation on our hands then, loads of talent and nobody to coach it and he's toast.

Darron(sp) Hutchenson TE 6-7 245 has it down to WVU and Miss ST......not sure how many of you have seen this kid, but he looks like Cam Newton playing TE...IMO would be a huge get for WVU and would make us more versatile on offense.

Agree. May be hard to measure improvement though. Might look like basketball team... compete hard, but lose anyway... tough schedule next year.

Read today he is good to go. He was waiting on his official transcript to be forwarded, and this was done today.

Well the first year...was tumultuous to say the least...he wasn't expecting to the be the HC....and he has a 10 win season under his belt and an Orange Bowl win...so it's not like he has not had any success to this point...
