I would roll it up and say that this will be year 5, depending on the outcome and preferable schedule this should be the year we will know if he can be the HC who has the ability to have Wv truly compete in the Big12..

KSU no matter how you look at it was a bad beat...

Dana is the HC, and as such he is responsible and accountable for the program.

But, how in the world can you look back at this team from 3 years ago, and not say they've gotten better?

This year, similar to 3 years ago... you had a QB with 2 1/2 games of starting experience. New wideouts at the X and Y position. 3 years ago, the team went 4-8. This year they went 7-5.

In 2013, they were...
  • #62 in Total Offense at 411 yds/gm.
  • #79 in Scoring Offense at 26.3.
  • #101 in Total Defense at 455 yds/gm.
  • #99 in Scoring Defense - 33.3
  • #86 in TO Margin
  • #83 in 1st down offense
In 2015, they were...
  • #28 in Total Offense at 463 yds/gm
  • #41 in Scoring Offense at 33.3
  • #55 in Total Defense at 386.2 yds/gm
  • #39 in Scoring Defense at 23.2
  • #11 in TO Margin
  • #21 in first down offense

That is due to you being a homer...like all of us.

Did you see the Big 12 all-conference team this week?

WVU had 6 players make the team. That total put them near the bottom of the league.

That was never the case when competing in the BE after Miami and VT left...

Holgorsen did JUST enough to keep his job for next year.
Exactly. Not enough to fire him. What gets Dana fired is going to be losing the fan base, which he is. I also think he lost a large portion of this team somewhere. People aren't buying into Holgs and it's going to cost WVU where it counts, in ticket sales.

I think he has lost the team to a certain degree every year. When I hear players, on a TV interview call a head coach by his first name, it speaks volumes.

I noticed how a segment of players couldn't wait to get to the locker room after K-State's last offensive play. I think it spoke volumes about where our players are mentally.

I have been a Dana supporter up till this season, and then it has been on and off (maybe I am a bandwagon fan). I'm not sure what it would take now for me to see him continue as the HC. As a retired soldier and
historian I have a bad habit of comparing HC's to Generals. I look at DH about the same way I look at Union General George B. McClellan, great organizer, men loved him, but couldn't get done in the field.
If you're like me, up until this year has been patiently waiting. Well patience has run it's course. This is Dana's team. Every player is one he brought in. So now it's time to show us what you're doing and where you're taking us.

I'm not impressed...

Why the hell did he stop pounding the rock?

An for Christ sake how long will we have to wait an see what Crest can do? Howard is the most inaccurate QB this game has ever seen, seriously.

Fair assessment but some in Mountaineer Nation cannot connect the dots.

Team after Texas game. Some may interpret this as the players attempting to kill Dana. The kids could have folded their tents after 4 straight losses to ranked teams but this kind of shows how the team stuck together. At least that is how I viewed it.

Mad... you are way wrong.

Dana lost the team... you could see it in the way they played against KSU. They had as many penalties as the most disciplined team in the league. They had less TO's than the greatest coached team in the league.

All very telling....

You're right. Bring back RR. At least he showed us what he could do once he got out of the conference formerly known as The Big East and played with the big boys. Hell, maybe GR is right. Bring in Doc. He is alleged to develop talent. Maybe since he could not develop talent at Marshall to beat WVU, maybe that too will give us an idea how he would do in the Big 12.

GR is 100% right. Doc is a proven champion. Look at his success winning CUSA championships.

A bunch of MAC coaches are taken, but there is one still available. He is a legacy too. That's right...Terry Bowden. He has transformed the Zips into winners, and he went undefeated at AU.

Tell me either one couldn't do better than the Red Bull?

I don't know. Still leaning towards RRs return. He made a name for us and then ran to Michigan. Obviously he did not take his big boy pants with him because the Big 10 showed him how much more of a harder conference they are compared to the Big East. Then he gets hired at the University of Arizona and the PAC 12. How is that working? But what the hell, bring him back. Maybe we can catch lightening twice in our moonshine bottle.

I used to get pissed at King and Boned Slurpy when they used to bad mouth us, but after watching us compete in the Big 12, I hate to admit that they were right. This fanbase thinks that we were going to run rhapsod in the Big 12 every season based off our past success. Dana made a huge mistake hanging 70 on Clemson. Now everybody expects WVU to win every game.
