SP has been the name of the game and, overall, the Dodgers have improved and are playing pretty well.

The BP is still in need of some help. Mahlon needs to go and the bench needs some help.

I agree that this coming week will tell us a lot about this team.

Nice win by Kershaw, I just hope Don Mattingly doesn't ever throw a joke of a line up, like he did today. :L

Jansen has bounced back and it appears he is mixing in a few more pitches since his bullshit meltdown in San Diego.

Haren is due for a great outing, let's not forget how well he was pitching to start the season. Hopefully we give him some nice run support today. Let's hope Vagiants get swept today & Dodgers bring it within 2 games behind after tonight.

Haren has been pretty shitty recently, but he's an ok 5th starter, I guess.

Luckily we got the win in spite of him.. bring on the Birds

Best 5 guy in the league. Can't really ask for much more out of a 5th starer than to have an ERA under 4. Better ERA than Kennedy, Arroyo, Lincecum, Vogelsong, Garza, Dickey, Burnett, etc.

Uribe's back too, definitely need his bat. Nothing against Turner, but I'm glad Uribe is back. Not like Uribe is going to play every day, so Turner will still get his..

It's better to play Turner off the bench, which can use help. Turner has done well for the Dodgers this season and had the GWH tonight. Dodgers need to dump Maholm. He represents a wasted roster spot.

Great game last night. That's the kind of game the Dodgers need to win if they're going to be a championship team. The defense has been spectacular lately, and the new Beckett is impressive.

Beckett has been a very pleasant surprise. The Dodgers have a very solid Rotation. If they keep things together, they will be dangerous.

Man, last night was just great baseball. Great pitchers squaring off, and LA just made a couple less mistakes.

Awesome that our #3-4 went neck and neck with their ace, and held them off.

This is going to be a fun series. Stay on them Ryu!!

Anyone else notice that Matty essentially has the rotation reversed? I goes Haren, Beckett, Ryu, Geinke, and then Kershaw? I noticed last season that Greinke started right after Kershaw, but didn't do so well. And then he started pitching right before him, and did much better. I think it was just mentally difficult for Greinke (as a former ace) to pitch after someone, so Matty switched them. I am not 100% sure on why any of this happening; other than it's happening, and it's working. I wonder if it's the same with Beckett, too (and maybe Haren just doesn't get a say in it).

Anyway, it's interesting just because it there is usually a very distinct order of rotation, starting with the ace. And that clearly isn't the case with this rotation.

TIED!!!!!

And Kershaw is at 28 consecutive scoreless innings.

We're playing very inspired baseball. We have definitely turned it around since being down 9 1/2 games back on June 8th.

Starters are dialed in, bullpen has largely stepped up because we have put games out of reach, and the offense has picked up since the beginning of the season.

Like I've said since the beginning with everyone talking about trading people; we have the talent. Going 42-8 last year told me that. We just had to get past ourselves, and play as a team. It looks like we are doing that. Kershaw should get enough innings to rank in ERA, in which LA will have their starters taking over the ERA ranks.

Finish strong until the break!!!

Clayton Kershaw - ERA 2.04
Josh Beckett - ERA 2.11
Zach Greinke - ERA 2.78
Hyun-Jin Ryu - ERA 3.12

That's pretty damn good fellas.

Wonder why lasportzphan isn't here to enjoy this? He's just a troll perhaps?
