Cutler will be a Bear next year, minimum.

If they can't work out a deal, he will be franchised.

Until they have a dependable Plan B, he will be a Bear. A dependable Plan B, will not happen by next year.

Sub par? He threw for over 200 yards, 3 TD and 1 pick. Thats not a bad game. To expect 400 yards and 5 TD's every week is too much.

I expect neither. I expect better than 18 for 35 from a QB who's as great as the majority of our board members proclaim him to be.

Did you happen to see any of the game or just the stat line on nfl.com after?

If you saw the game then you know how Stafford played yesterday?

Yes. Some good throws, and a lot of missed throws.

You know about the dropped balls, balls batted down and plays made by the defense? If you saw the game then you know that Stafford had maybe 3 or 4 bad or kind of bad passes all game on 35 attempts right?

Bears D played well enough to win yesterday.

Stafford played fine. He didn't have a superstar day, but like you said, give the Bears D some credit.

Yeah. I've been a critic of his accuracy, but it was better than his stat line makes it look yesterday. A few were batted down, there were some drops, a few were just broken up due to good D and he threw a couple away.

The Bears D did play good yesterday. No doubt. Lions scored on 3 drives out of maybe 12? I dont have the count, but your D shut down our offense pretty well.

Gotta be careful on this board Kreton when you're offering an opinion on anything since its always interpreted as a fact.

Always state the fact that cant be argued. Just add ", he played well enough for his team to win" on to the end of your post and now its a fact. Have fun agruing that one Bears fans.

Everything I say, even when i explicitly state it is a fact, is just my opinion. And being my opinion in fact makes it a fact. Thus my opinion on facts is that my factual opinions are in fact facts that others havent realized or accepted yet.

Since when are batted passes an excuse for the QB? They're counted against the QB. And there were more than 3 or 4 bad passes that weren't batted down.

I'm not saying that he sucks, or even sucked yesterday. But for all the talk of Stafford being elite, and of Cutler sucking ass, there wasn't much difference yesterday.

Not a Martz fan at all. Tho, I think Mike Tice sabotaged him a few times when they were with the Bears....er' at least that's what Olin Kreutz said.

Would not surprise me. Martz was an abrasive guy and when he was in Detroit we always heard about him being involved in a power struggle with the head coach. I think another coach would kick him under the bus no problem.

Hard to read Trestman. No hard feelings towards the guy although I seriously question some of his decisions from Sunday.

I didn't mind the call to go for it on that fourth...just didn't like the playcall.

I hated both calls on the 2 pt conversion

But by far, his biggest mistake was not sitting Jay sooner.

With all that said, I think he is the best playcaller we've had in awhile.

Well it's shit you're always going to have to deal with because Cutler is selfish and a quitter, simple as that.

Checking himself out of the NFC Championship game while he sat and peddled a stationary bike sealed that fate for him. Some guys are gamers who play for love of the game. Some guys play to collect a paycheck and have no sense of team. Cutler falls into the latter category...

Checking himself out with an mcl sprain? In that case, there seem to be a lot of selfish quitters in the NFL.

Yeah, he's clearly the better QB but it was obvious he could barely move long before they pulled him. Thanks for that. :suds:

How many of those guys were playing QB in the conference championship game when they decided to call it a game at halftime?

Jay pulled himself from the game? Doesn't seem like it from Lovie's comments.

"As far as Jay, Jay didn't take himself out of the game. If you're going to attack somebody, you should be attacking me. As a head football coach, and our medical staff, we're the ones ... he wanted to go back in. He was injured and went back in in the second half."
