Thanks
But this doesn't help your case against my strong and correct rebuttal.
What strong correct rebuttal. The story that says the feds didn't uncover point shaving.
Point shaving was found in Arizona, it's a neighbor state so maybe that helps your argument.

In the past, small bookies saw large profits in small point shaving schemes; however, the conspiracy has reached new levels in present day sports. According to the 1999 Gambling Impact Study, an estimated $80 billion to $380 billion was illegally bet each year on sporting events in the United States. (This includes all sources and forms of sports gambling, not just bets connected to match fixing.) This estimate dwarfed the $2.5 billion legally bet each year in Nevada.[3]

Such an enormous amount of illegal activity makes organized sports a likely candidate for corruption. On 15 August 2007, an NBA referee, Tim Donaghy, pled guilty to two felonies related to wagering on games that he officiated.[4]

The reason a pro team is not in Vegas us because the leagues and state officials don't think Vegas will support a pro team. The home team would have more visiting fans than home fans.
The NBA has their summer league here yearly, no issues, the NHL all but landed her this year, then changed their minds. It's not gambling their worried about its team sustainment.
Now the NFL is anot her story all together. The NFL claims it's concerned about gambling yet they play games in London and Mexico where its legal to bet on sports including the NFL. No gambling isn't the real issue, the real issue is the NFL doesn't make money from the books. Look at FF, it's gambling, yet the NFL isn't just OK with it they sanction in on NFL.com. If the NFL thought it could run a sports book and pocket the VIG, there would be betting windows at the stadiums.

You do realize illegal sports bet it not a issue in Vegas right. Illegal books are across the rest of the country, and they don't have the resources to keep an eye on possible gaming scandals.

It doesn't take much for the Nevada Gamming Commission to Blacklist someone. If they think you are trying to cheat the system you are out of all Nevada casinos. If you are suspected of counting cards at a Black Jack table you are escorted out, and just being suspected will get some counters black listed. Vegas casinos don't like being cheated.

As a Cowboy fan, I have for years hoped for the best but expected the worse. No I don't think even Jerry will bring in Manziel anymore, but I've learned to never say never.

I hear ya ....

Uh huh.... And I"m surprised you don't learn from the past... Maybe Jerry has proven to you he'll never bring in troubled players.... But hey man BELIEVE everything you read ....

Sure he's brought in one of two troubled players over the years, but after the Quincy Carter mistake, he's vowed to NEVER take a QB with substance abuse/alcohol problems.

His agent cut ties with him, and the Brown's will be releasing him any minute now. His father evidently said that he worries Manziel will be dead before he hits 24.

I was listening to our local radio guys on the way in to work today, and they brought up Johnny Football coming here, and how it would benefit him to form a relationship with Pete Carroll.

I think it's at least interesting to think about.
Yes and marijuana is legal. That should be a good fit for this ass clown:thumb:
I hope he does go to Seattle or anyone of the teams. That way I don't have to worry about BB even taking a look at him like ge did Teblow.

Continuing off topic, this point has always baffled me. In fact, your post spurred me to google card counting. I don't gamble and have never been to a casino but I've heard of this for years. As far as I can tell, card counters remember a tally of the value of cards played and thus removed from the chance of being drawn again. They use this information to inform their current bets.

WHAT THE FUCK ELSE WOULD YOU DO?!!!

Jesus, are you supposed to erase them from your memory and make bets it inopportune times? Among the behaviors of card counters they list:
  • Large buy ins
  • Large bet sizes
  • Dramatic bet variation especially with larger bets being placed only at the end of a shoe
  • Playing only a small number of hands during a shoe
  • Refusal to play rated
  • Table hopping
  • Playing multiple hands
I ask again, what else would you do? I can see curbing table hopping as problematic in itself but it seems crazy to require a bettor to forget what he's seen.

What am I missing?

....oh, and Johnny's washed up. He's had too many rehab chances for one of them to finally work. The list of successful QBs who spent their first years rehabbing and re-saucing?

I just started a petition to have him banned from Gillette Stadium.
