Wasn't he just the messenger? What about the rest the board?

And what will they do to restore Paternos image and legacy?

He probably was just the voice... All BOT members at the time deserve to step down..

As far as restoring JoePA.. Hard to know right now. Due to the knee jerk reactions & the BOT's response at the time, it will take a while for everything to go through due process. Something that everyone should have let happen in the first place.

Your first sentence was what I was getting at about the BOT. It was a unanimous decision. And that decision was a knee jerk reaction under pressure to "do something about this" and it turns out it was the wrong decision. It likely cost Paterno his life and at this point it definitely cost him his legacy and all because he trusted the system they created to work.

Fortunately history is usually not kind to fools and they will have their own legacy.

I think what needs to happen now though is his statue needs to be returned to it's place of honor.

That particular statue should go in front of old main where the students and community can rally around it and let it be a reminder of what had happened every single day. The media made that statue a symbol of the mess... In turn, that spot near Beaver stadium can remain empty & we should rename Beaver in his honor.

It is a mess. I feel for you guys. Really glad to know Paterno will be cleared. One of the hero's of the sport, back before money ate it up.

Unfortunately though most who don't follow the sport will not know anything other than the first few weeks. You don't see him being cleared on the front page.

I really get angry when people on the outside that took no time to educate themselves on the matter call Paterno all the things that they do. REALLY angry.. It'll never be front page because all news outlets were wrong in the first place.

NO, Surma had it out for Joe for years, he blamed his son being gay and having drug problems on Joe not holding his hand through college. He and that fucking snake Ken Frazier were the driving forces behind the real cover up and the info is now starting to bubble to the surface.

You'll never restore Joe's image to the people who have made up their mind and quit paying attention, but read some of the links I posted in other threads from guys like Blehar who are proving Joe was the convenient scapegoat for the BOT and Corbett to cover their ass and the asses of their scumbag buddies in the second mile, who was told about the 201 incident in the supposed coverup by Joe, curley, shultz and Spanier. 2nd mile members made HUGE donations to Corbett's campaign. Hell, read the Paterno report, it shows the many fabrications in the Freeh report and th e grand Juy presentment misrepresented the facts they had which fueled the flames and the new AG is digging into that mess.

He's part of the core group or "task force" referred to in the Freeh contract that at first they claimed didn't exist, now was finally released this week and clearly shows the mission being far from an independant investigation but more of a witch hunt to pin it on Joe and Football to save the BOT big wigs and their buddies from embarrasment. Frazier is the biggest scumbag of the lot

Yeah, they were all on the fucking soapbox without even reading the flimsy freeh report, but running with the press release that was not backed by facts. They get a report that refutes it, makes them look like assholes and of course they ignore it.
