Caught in a Mosh
Franklin relieved him of his duties affective immediately.
Here's the deal with teh offense. You saw what Donovan wanted to do in Temple game and it almost got Hack killed. JFF dialed it back because he wanted Hack to survive the season and give us a better chance to win games. If we run what Donovan had planned, which was more wide open, Hack likely gets wiped out and we win less than we did.It never made sense to put Hackenberg in an offense that didn't fit him. That is just poor coaching.
Realistic
1. Mike Munchak - Isn't leaving an elite NFL team
2. Mike Yurcich - My top choice
3. Mike Locksley (His offense hasn't been terrible and give him a Saquon and our WRs and I think it may work) - He and Franklin are not exactly buddies, despite coaching on same staff
Christmas wish
1. Nick Saban
2. Les Miles (I know he is staying at LSU now, but it would be fun)
3. Pat Fitzgerald
I see Herb Hand is a favorite to replace Donovan. Wasn't Herb's line part if not a huge factor why Hack struggled? Wouldn't mind Herb being co-OC Coordinator with someone else doing the majority of the play calling.
I dislike when sites list replacements who just have ties to PA. I say, just like recruiting we ask all the top guys we are interested in no matter where they have ties to. Who cares if they say no. Go after the big names if you think it will make Penn State successful.
