Would love to see him go after Okie state OC. Has ties to the area, coached for years in PSAC and reportedly wants to be closer to home. Muchak would be the pipe dream candidate for me as well.

I wonder what this will do regarding Hackenberg's decision on going pro.

It never made sense to put Hackenberg in an offense that didn't fit him. That is just poor coaching.

Here's the deal with teh offense. You saw what Donovan wanted to do in Temple game and it almost got Hack killed. JFF dialed it back because he wanted Hack to survive the season and give us a better chance to win games. If we run what Donovan had planned, which was more wide open, Hack likely gets wiped out and we win less than we did.
Realistic
1. Mike Munchak - Isn't leaving an elite NFL team
2. Mike Yurcich - My top choice
3. Mike Locksley (His offense hasn't been terrible and give him a Saquon and our WRs and I think it may work) - He and Franklin are not exactly buddies, despite coaching on same staff

Christmas wish
1. Nick Saban
2. Les Miles (I know he is staying at LSU now, but it would be fun)
3. Pat Fitzgerald

interesting, Mark Richt says he'd like to get back to coaching QB's and calling plays and will listen to any and all offers in any arena or area immediately. Franklin, dial up Pegula, jump in the money truck and get that done!!!! That would be too good to be true, would also make Hack's decision interesting. Richt has produced a #1 overall QB not so long ago

After seeing this I gotta wonder how Donovan was able to be a OC as long as he did.

I see Herb Hand is a favorite to replace Donovan. Wasn't Herb's line part if not a huge factor why Hack struggled? Wouldn't mind Herb being co-OC Coordinator with someone else doing the majority of the play calling.

I dislike when sites list replacements who just have ties to PA. I say, just like recruiting we ask all the top guys we are interested in no matter where they have ties to. Who cares if they say no. Go after the big names if you think it will make Penn State successful.

Don't knwo where you saw that, Hand may call plays in the bowl game, but haven't seen him mentioned as a potential long term replacement anywhere. Herb;s line is a product of making chicken sald from chicken shit, I'll judge him when guys like Gonzo, Bates and Sterling cycle into the rotation, guys they recruited.

Hand did handle play calling at Tulsa, so he's not without experience though.

GA Mangus wants the job, Lazor has been contacted and there is mutual interest, nit really sure beyond that

Rahne will call plays in bowl and hire will come from outside the program, per quotes from Franklin. Should be done in next week or 2, new guy will come in and evaluate the talent during bowl practices ideally

Interesting, was hearing Moorehead's name a lot recently, but this seems to point to Mangus, wouldn't be upset with either of those choices
