I know it's a fairly small sample size, but are you kidding me? He NEVER showed any of this in his 3 1/2 years with the O's...

He's in the NL now which is a benefit, out of the AL East which is even bigger, and he is at his peak age 28 years old he has a better understanding of what he needs to do with each batter and he trusts his stuff.

He's been good thus far, jury is still out if you ask me.

We'll see how he's done by the time the season ends.

He is 8-3 with a 2.82 era since he joined the Cubbies last year. Always wanted to see him succeed here because his stuff is nasty but AL and Camden killed his confidence

Right on. I've been keeping tabs on what he's been doing and I think it's great. Not for the O's necessarily, but I'm just glad for him. Probably doesn't hurt that he's had Hammel to talk with regarding the tough times with the O's. Wish him nothing but the best and I'd love to see him help the Cubbies rise in the near future and make that division a pretty damn interesting one to watch.

I'm wondering what in the world has clicked for him the past few seasons in Chicago that didn't while he was here because the guy has become the stud like pitcher that everyone had envisioned he would become.

NL maybe? I don't know, the O's gave him a ton of innings here so it's not like they didn't give him a shot.

Most likely was rushed since his debut he was 24 with not to much minors pitching.

It just seemed like something clicked with both him and Strop once they got out of Baltimore. Jake showed no signs of improvement during the first couple months before he was traded but once he left, it's like he became a whole different pitcher.
