Rejoice!!!! Good they didn't let him ride out the season.... the sooner they get rid of his sorry ass the sooner they can look for a replacement.

What an abysmal tenure.. right there on par with Bill Fking Bavasi.

The train shouldn't stop here.... want McClendon gone soon as well.

Good riddance. Glad it happened during the season just to make it all the more embarrassing for him.

That won't happen until they get a new GM. We'll see how that plays out. My question is what's the alternative? Who in their right mind take a job where you're basically guaranteed to last 2 years max?

What a shitshow this organization is. Is it me, or can they never get a good GM here?

Ben Cherington is available, by the way.

About fucking time they dumped this guy, but trusting our team president to get a qualified replacement and giving him the resources to succeed is like trusting a 3rd grader to run a major company.

I guess I should put my name in, then! Couldn't do worse than Z, right?

I have to believe Mclendon will be gone after the season, the new GM has to re-cultivate this entire organization

Hard to get too excited since hiring a new GM doesn't address the main problem of the organization, which is an incompetent CEO and President, and an indifferent ownership.

Still, it's kind of impossible for our idiot front office to hire anybody more incompetent than Z as a replacement (right?), so there's that.

from what i've read, when hired, the new GM will be given the power to decide the future of LMC as skipper.

Hope you're right.

If that is the case, and they've actually seen his game management "skills", he will likely be released.

I don't get Mathers conference, he admits he's not a baseball but also won't bring a baseball guy in to help make a baseball related decision. It's obvious management don't really care about baseball but I'm not sure thats something you'd want to say out loud when your fan base completely turned on you this year.

Yea the only thing you can hang your hat on is that Mather is better at evualting this situation then Chuckles was. I realize that bar is very low.

Either way unless someone is given full range of the baseball decisions it likely won't matter. They may not want to rebuild but there are still a ton of holes on this roster. Obviously the idea is to strike when Cano, Felix and Cruz are still in their good years. If that fails then this same day likely happens all over again in 3-4 years.
