Howard has a favorable matchup v the Skins

Ty will face the Vikes which has been bad on defense the last several weeks.

AP is done and so are the Vikes

One big game against a bad team and Montgomery is now a top flight RB? Is that the new standard?

Bears run defense is 8th against the run. Nobody is calling him a top flight RB but many are in agreement that he's probably the bigger stronger version of Sproles as a elite third down back and return man. Most are doubting his ability to be a workhorse due to durability issues which goes for most RB's.

Nobody is calling him a top flight RB? Didn't you write the title for this thread? Doesn't it suggest that Montgomery will be a top 5-10 RB?

The Bears are a bad team. Let's see Montgomery have more than 1 good game before making predictions for him.

I put a ? after the title. In the following posts myself and others concluded he would be an outstanding 3rd down back and wouldn't be able to carry the rock 220+ times due to durability concerns.

Bears are a decent team that just don't know how to close games which is why many of there games are very close. Ty will have all the chances the next two games and more if they make the playoffs since he was named the #1 RB even if Starks comes back and with Christine Michael as well.

FTFY

The Bears are 3-11 with the 6th worst point differential. They are not a decent team.

They played much better in their last 5 games and have a good run defense.

Only 2 RB's have run for 100+ yards vs the Bears this season and it was Elliot with 140 and Lamar Millar with 104. So Ty had the most rushing yards of the season vs the Bears and the most rushing yards this week. He might be the best RB in the NFC north already lol.

I little history on the man. He played a lot of running back in High school but I guess the college coach asked if he minded switching to receiver as they had more of a passing offense,

The 100 yard dash time is nice to see

Ty Montgomery - Wikipedia

Early years
Montgomery attended St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas, Texas, where he was a four-sport star in football, track, baseball and lacrosse. He played as a wide receiver, running back, and quarterback for the football team. As a senior, he had 823 rushing yards on 93 carries and 17 catches with 10 total touchdowns. He had 118 catches and 36 total touchdowns during his high school career.[1]

Also a standout track & field athlete, Montgomery competed as a sprinter and long jumper. At the 2011 SPC Championships, he earned first-place finishes in both the 100-meter dash (10.81 s) and 200-meter dash (22.20 s), while also anchoring the 4x100 squad to victory (43.15 s).[2] He posted a career-best leap of 6.55 meters (21 ft, 3 in) in the long jump at the 2011 Lancaster Meet of Champions.[3]
