I bet this type of thread is posted each year. Its always bad. I just wish they would allow video replay on alot of close/important penalties. Would make the game alot more fair, but of course would make the game slower.

Last nights game was painful to watch. There was one stretch where there were about 6 flags in a row. 19 accepted penalties last night??? WTF?!?

Totally agree. I shut it off around this time. All that laundry for the slightest contact in the secondary ruins the game for me. It's getting ridiculous.

This is an age old complaint. What bothers me is the inconsistent officiating. In the Eagles-Redskins game, the horrible call was excessive celebration on the TD by Redskins TE Vernon Davis. All he did was the "jump shot" in which he shot the football through the goal posts. That's excessive? Meanwhile Odell Beckham ran around like a chicken with his head cut off, prancing and posing, after a TD and didn't draw a flag?

Nope. Officiating is probably better than it ever has been.

It's just that the game is moving ridiculously fast (some 50 year old white guy is supposed to run step for step with Julio Jones or Antonio Brown? GTFO) and you can thank technology for all the ridiculous HD perfect slow mo replays that show EVERY angle of the ball and bead of sweat on a player.

Dunking or shooting the ball through the goal post is a clear violation and an auto 15 yard penalty. He's essentially using the goal post as a prop, and the NFL says no to that.

Stupid, but legit call.

Also Odell Beckham is a douche.

Refs/officials/umps have been getting "itchy trigger fingers" the past 10 years. They have to make a difference in a game. It's been old

Refs don't "let it go" / let them play nowhere near what they used it in ALL sports.

Eh whatevs. I'll still take the NFL refs any day over NBA refs. And the fact they aren't using computers yet to call balls/strikes in baseball is absurd. Stick an f'ing earpiece in the umps ear and he can still call it for all the nostalgia people out there.

I hate people who blame the refs but the Eagles lost to the Lions because of the refs (and I sound like a little bitch saying that)

1. 14 penalties to 2
2. Three 30+ yard plays taken away on phantom penalties that had the announcers saying, "I didnt see anything on that"
3. We have a huge play that would have pretty much buried the Lions. They call a chop block on Sproles. You see bad penalties 100's of times but this was literally the worst I ever saw. The DE blitzed... Sproles blocked him in his chest and they call a chop block on a one on one RB pick up block. A chop block is when a tackler is engaged in a block and another player comes and chops out his knees. How is a one on one RB pick up block even remotely close to a chop block.
4. The Redskins curb stomped the Eagles even if the final score didnt indicate that.

When stuff happens recently, it is always "the worst ever".

I predict it will be worse next year and will pale in comparison to 4 years from now.

Replay is worse than ever.

Time to get rid of it altogether.

You lost because your rookie QB finished the game like a rookie QB.
