Watching the Eagles vs. Skins games I noticed the Skins got away with a lot of holding. Now do not get me wrong that is not why the Skins won. They flat out beat the crap out of the Eagles. The score does not reflect the beating they put on them.

The Eagles got away with some too. I can recall a play where Jenkins got away with a defensive hold on a 3rd down play.

What I noticed is how the home teams get a lot more calls than they should. Take the Seahawks/Falcons game....I have never seen a more obvious pass interference call not made. I am sure many could list examples of what they have seen. I understand that officials are human and errors would be made but I have never see it this bad across the NFL.

Another obvious play but it was the visitor that got the call. Deep in the red zone Rodgers used a hard count that obviously drew the Cowboys offside and it was not called. Rodgers missed a wide open receiver but he thought he had a free play just like the rest of the free world.

Again....these things are happening way too often.

The refs are not cyborgs. They don't see everything from every angle. They position themselves to see particular things, mostly to benefit the offense. Players know this, and they take advantage.

And I can understand that but this year it is worse than I ever seen. I could understnad if it was across the board but some of the call have been so bad that everyone is shaking their head. In most games it is favoring one team over the other.

No, the Refs were just as bad, or maybe worse in 1980, when technology didn't catch every single inch of every single play, and showed it to the viewing world

This was not bad officiating. It was the correct enforcement of an obscure rule. The officials got it right. It was just no one else had ever heard of it.

Just makes you wonder if Carrol will eventually leave under controversial circumstances before shit hits the fan, ala USC.

Not sure, is being proud of 3 losses and no wins the talk of a winner?

I'm sure the Packers wouldn't mind that.

Wow, that was the most obvious non-call you've ever seen? Really? In real time it looks like one that could go either way. Only upon slowing it down and getting the right angle do you see the obvious PI. I get why the refs missed that one. They weren't in the best position to see the grab. It's very similar to the facemask on Aaron Rodgers in the Detroit game last year. Refs just didn't get a good enough view to make the correct call, even though it was obvious when slowing it down that there was no facemask.

That said, I'm not one to defend the officials. I'm definitely of the opinion that they've been worse since they came back after the stint with the replacement refs. Part of that is due to goofy judgement call rules put in place by the NFL.
