Many of us on this board are expatriates of other message boards that closed down when the economics didn't work or when they sold the boards to other sites that later shut them down. So yes, the threat is legit and you should be in contact with some members of your community via email or some other social media just in case.
For some of us, this has happened multiple times over the past two decades and we have connected on new boards when it did. Some fans were on KFFL, and before that Mouth Off, Sporting News, etc. But every time, you do lose a fair number of people. Message boards are slowly dying as people use Facebook and Twitter to comment on things, or go to bigger, more diffuse communities such as Reddit.
Commave and I got along for years surprisingly on the refugee board. Yankees fans don't play nice.I survived the 4 letter board too. I spent a lot of time on the baseball side too. Alternating between Red Sox discussion and getting banned on the very sensitive Yankees board. For some strange reason (Hammerdown) a lot of Patriots fans did not last long on here. I wish they'd come back for a look. Shaggy is much more even-handed.....
Pre 2013 it wasn't which is what the occupy tebow stuff was about.Wasn’t ESPN’s comment section just your own Facebook account?
ESPN just closed it's comment section, and a reality tv board changed it's whole interface and no longer has a dicussion forum. I'm wondering if this board is in danger from something similar happening?
I was a non quality espn posterSame here. There were quite a few quality posters that were able to survive the ESPN boards and find a home here.
Still are...I was a non quality espn poster
