Is the Celtics trade as good as it seems?

Epoch: how can you list both the Lakers AND Celtics as your favorite teams?? I mean no fan of either team would be caught dead rooting for both! Not sure how old you are, nor it's none of my business, but these two teams have a loooong history of dislike(maybe hate too if you were around in the 60's/80's to see their battles).

Just curious to hear your reason.

I hate to admit my age... but Iv'e been watching since Russel was in college.

Sure the Lakers are our greatest enemy... but the rivalry has spanned decades and what comes of that is also a great respect for both the team and organization. I respect them completely. During the game I wish a 1,000 deaths upon them. But in the end there is no team that I respect more.

The funny thing is... Bird and Magic brought a dying NBA back to life in the 80's. After that MJ, LBJ and the new rules that favor individuals over teams have been killing it again ever since.
