It's been a LONG time since the Lions have won a playoff game, and haven't really come close to even going to a SB in decades. (IMO, they haven't ever been close, but some of my buddies feel differently)

Is it finally their time to shine? It seems like all the pieces are in place for them to at least be a contender. Although I think beating Seattle (especially IN Seattle) is a long shot, I feel like the Lions may just have enough fire power, and defensive line power to make a case for them to be a SB contender come playoff time. It was good to see both Chicago and GB lose in week 1, but Detroit probably still needs to win 10 games to even be in the hunt in their division this year.

The Lions have a pathetic history, but with a new coach and some stellar players in their prime, it might just turn into a magical season.

Am I just drinking the kool aid again?

I just don't get the Lions. Their O-line and D-line is exceptional. Their weapons are great. Their QB has a cannon.

Why are they so average?

Now that they got rid of Schwartz, I think they could make some noise this year.

The Lions have had the players to be in contention for the past 3-4 years, but they had a child for a head coach. Can the new one mold them into a team? I guess we'll find out. I'm surprised they haven't had more success, until I remember Schwartz was their HC. It shouldn't be surprising if Detroit does find the post season, what's more surprising is they always have found a way NOT to be there recently.

Stafford has regressed. If we get the 2011 Stafford or something close they'll score a ton. Too many holes on D to be a top team... this year. I hope I'm wrong. The playoffs aren't out of the question.

Stafford has a cannon, but he's very inaccurate.

It's hard to tell when you have such a huge target like Calvin to throw to, if he throws a bad ball. From what I've seen, especially the past 2 seasons, there have been A LOT of dropped balls by Lions receivers. I believe the Lions led the NFL in dropped passes last year. I think that does a lot for the pysche of a QB when you deliver the ball and the receiver fails to complete the catch.

No doubt Stafford has looked bad at times, but I still think the guy is a top 10 QB, and probably should have top 5 numbers this year. We'll see!

What kind of sandwich?

Detroit is 5 point fav. So it can't be the same quality of sandwiches. It has to be something like, the Lions are a pbj fave, and the giants are a pulled pork underdog.

I'll take the pbj.

Remember they were 6-3 last year and leading the division be a game when Aaron Rodgers got hurt, I think maybe Cutler got hurt at the same time? In a gall of those last 7 games they had a lead at some point in the fourth quarter. So it's not like they are really that far off from being a team getting a bye the first week of the playoffs. They just have some issues with closing out games. Kind of an understatement I know.

If new coach can get some confidence in them. Some killer instinct. Or like the above poster said, some Eye of the Tiger, they could easily be at the top of 5 he conference. Of course if they're still the same old Lions, they could be picking top 10 again. (And again and again)

Saw Aerosmith a few weeks ago at the Gorge with Tom Petty. Petty has slowed down quite a bit. But Tyler is still a freaking monster on stage.

I wasn't terribly impressed by the Lions tonight. The Giants looked completely out of sorts but the Lions were simply better than bad.

2-1. I can't say I have much confidence in them yet, but after the Panthers
game I didn't think they stood a chance against GB!

The defense seems pretty legit. Hopefully the offense can step up soon!
