Sitting, I think at 26 in a row.
If they win it all this year, that's 3 more.

Looks like clear sailing all of next year.
That's probably 15 more.

That's 44 straight.

I think they are in the right conference to do it.

I can see it happening.

Maybe, but Oklahoma played MUCH better competition. Clemson can rest it’s players for almost every game in the 2nd half bc their schedule is so weak. It is much more difficult to achieve a long winning streak in a top conference. That being said, still impressive

Midway next season you should start some batshit crazy threads about how Boston college and Wake are gonna stop the Clemson train. Call it inevitable village

Oh yeah. I was just joking. In order to break the record, they would have to win 3 Nattys in a row which means they would have to beat a Top 4 team 6 times in a row. That would be tougher than what Bud faced.

Nothing wrong with that, I would just point out that Bud had to keep it together, longer, which may be the biggest component to that. Over 5 seasons.

I want to talk shit but the '56 season. Holy crap y'all gave up 50 points the entire year. Colorado managed to score multiple touchdowns and that was the only game our grandparents had to sweat that year. That season was mid 90's Nebraska on steroids (or whatever the hell uo was giving their "student athletes" at the time). Epic run

lol, not really. During OU's streak, the only other big 7 team that finished the season ranked was 1956 Colorado. Nebraska and Texas sucked during this time period. During OU's 47 win streak, they only had six wins against teams that finished the year ranked. Clemson had three top 25 wins last year alone.

fwiw, I'm not trying to take away from OU's run because winning 47 in a row is f'n bonkers.

Because outside of Nebraska the Big 8 was so dominant.

Teams play a lot more games per year now too if they make the playoff. Easier to win 45 in a row over 3 years than it is to do in almost 4 full years. That way you only need one or two truly phenomenal classes instead of 3

No, ever play the game where one isn't like the others? OU does not belong.

Only because they avoid UCF and Texas. Otherwise, they’d have 4 losses over the past 2 seasons.

You feeling better today? If not, just think about the winning streak over Tennessee! I haven't figured out the details yet, but I think Alabama vs. Notre Dame in the Citrus is a possibility! Just need to the CFB clowns to drop Alabama like a rock in the rankings tonight. :)
