National championships aside you have to be able to see how flawed this system is.If Bama didn't benefit from it would you feel the same ? What if it was Stanford vs Oregon in the NCG ?

I fuckin hate this system, no disagreement there.

This would be 100% accurate and true if Alabama didn't lose to LSU at home the first time...that loss happened in the "real world" you speak of lol

Here's another article on the matter...it analyzes the meaning of Alabama's win

Scout.com: Johnson: The Loss Of The Regular Season

The problem with the Alabama fan's perspective is that they tend to think they really won the first game too lol

No, we know we lost, but we also know why we lost. It's not just Alabama fans, numerous neutral fans have said that you could tell who the better team was in that game. Bama outplayed LSU, they just couldn't get it between the uprights.

They did on Jan 9th...

Well, you should be a huge fan of the BCS, because you basically got a do-over

In any other sport, you would have had to work your way through a playoff because you didn't win your own conference

I've never seen a fanbase continue to throw logic out the window in order to celebrate a championship

Why? You've got a National Championship because of the system

If we had a 16 team playoff, you probably would have had a couple of road trips before making it to the Title game lol

You got A "National championship" because of two corrupt human polls and as unfortunate as that is it is the truth

bama has multiple championships based on much less, cut them a break for trying to be in the same universe as "fair"...or whatever the pipsqueak calls it

I have cut them a break I will acknowledge them as *national champions but it will always have an asterix due to the BCS system

Check this out....

5 + 5 = 10

Now.....

*5+5= 10

That's so strange...even though there is an asterisk next to the second problem, it doesn't change the outcome.

* = Don't mean shit.

That makes no sense what are you multiplying 5 by before adding it to 5 ? :D

Thats better but this equation = USC is the 2004 national champions :D

There is not a BCS Champion for 2004. USC is the AP National Champion for 2004. However, their controversy is on a completely different level. We won ours with the rules on our side. :amen:

1996 a rematch produced the National Champion as voted by coaches and media.

1997 produced split National Champions as voted by coaches and the media.

1998 Came the BCS to stop all that B.S.

2003 produced split National Champions as voted by coaches, media, computers.

2011 a rematch produced the National Champion as voted by coaches, media, computers.

So what change did the BCS make? Not a damn one really. More of the same ole same ole so just accept it. A small few run this shit and thats the way it is.

Its been a horror almost every year

'98 - you could argue Ohio State deserved a shot
'99 - a perfect year!
'00 - Miami and Washington are left out
'01 - Oregon and Colorado are left out, Nebraska backs into the championship game without winning its division
'02 - No controversy, it would have been interesting to see how Georgia and USC would have fared
'03 - Oklahoma backs into the title game, USC and LSU split the National Championship
'04 - Utah and Auburn completely left out with undefeated records
'05 - Perfect year: Texas vs. USC
'06 - Not really any controversy
'07 - Georgia and USC have arguments, although Georgia failed to win the SEC
'08 - Texas left out because of stupid rule, the entire western US is left out (USC, Utah, Boise St. are 36-1 combined heading into the postseason)
'09 - Boise St., TCU and Cincinnati are all left out
'10 - TCU left out
'11 - absurd rematch, Oklahoma State left out

And that's just the years we've had with the BCS...
