I wouldn't be complaining if it were my team. That said, oakland's schedule gets tougher in the second half and Texas' gets easier so it will be interesting to see if Oakland keeps pace then. I said from the start that if Texas can stay up till the all star break that I like their chances. I still do.

We'll just wait and see, I guess...

It should be a fun season and I think both teams will make the playoffs, as one team will win the West and one will win the WC.

Yeah, the problem is that stupid ass wild card play in game for whoever gets it. I feel pretty confident in saying either of the two teams will have the better record of the two wild card teams and for a 162 game season to come down to 1 game when there's possibly multiple games seperating the two wild card teams is maybe the stupidest idea I've ever heard in my life. And that's saying a lot for bud Selig.

Yeah it's :lame:

I think there should be only one WC winner, so then the whole one game elimination would be gone.

But Bud Selig likes the one game elimination because it makes for more TV commercials, thus more money for MLB lol.

Dumbass Selig....:wtf2:

Tigers have big holes on defense and in their bullpen. They're not even in the top 4 IMO.

Same here, dude. The reason why I left ESPN was because of all the idiotic trolls and spammers.

not trying to start crap.......but if that was the reason you left you would have been here awhile ago

you left because they are killing the boards :2cents:

and yes i agree the rangers/a's will have a wc spot..........hopefully the a's

rangers are getting healthy and hopefully pull a move at the deadline

here is the little paragraph i was alluding to earlier .....couldnt find it earlier

How do they do it? Their regular catcher is hitting under .200. Josh Reddick, their best player last year via Baseball-Reference WAR, is hitting .218 with three home runs. Yoenis Cespedes is hitting .225 with an OBP under .300. Chris Young is hitting .188. Brett Anderson has made just five starts. Jarrod Parker got off to a slow start. Their best pitcher is 82-year-old Bartolo Colon. Amazing.

They do have holes but that offense is ridiculous and in a short series they should have some excellent starting pitching.

Predictions in baseball are meant to be broken. I see a lot of good teams right now and no 'great' team

Yeah, I just think their defense is a bigger issue than people realize, and they need a minimum 2 bullpen pieces at the deadline to be ready for a deep play off run. In a 5 game series they'll be tough. In 7 that defense and lacking bullpen will be exposed.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the AL West and NL Central produced the World Series teams this year. Both divisions have 3 fairly legit teams, although the Angels really do need Pujols and Hamilton to be Pujols and Hamilton.

Somehow, Boston has extended their lead since their best starter went down with an injury (first week of June)... They have had closer issues all season.... Lackey is their best starter right now?... Middlebrooks is in AAA and Igelsias has played 3B... They just lost three in a row, and still have the best record....

They just took another hit in their bullpen, losing Miller. If they can get over that, and Buchholz comes back strong, they will be hard to beat...
