No biggie, guy has played a ton of hockey over the past three seasons (Europe, Olympics, playing hockey into June two straight years before this one), he deserves a break.

Actually, it's a big deal - refusing to play for your country.
He didn't play more than Datsyuk, Gonchar or Malkin. He is only 22 and he is not injured.
If he was Russian and refused to play for national team, he would have been killed by Russian media

before the tournament started Hockey Canada (Bob Nicholson) said they would not publically ask any of the Cdn Olympians to play in the worlds so if they ended up asking him to play they are idiots ... I wouldnt doubt if Messiers 2 cent head was behind this
