It's possible but 538 probably isn't factoring in how much of an impact Love has on that team.

I think the Cavs, at worst, lose 3 games to finish out which gets them to 50 wins. The Sixers would need to win 8 of their last 9 to overtake the Cavs in that case because the Cavs would get the tiebreaker due to winning their division, which is really dumb but the rule.

If we lose to the Cavs, that's two games they have to make up, because it would give CLE the series, as well.
There is also a distinct possibility that the Sixers win out.
But, there's bound to be a clunker here or there.

In full Process mode, I consider losing to CHA or DET to increase our chances at getting LAL at #10.
But, it's all about wins now.

Dude, stop being greedy.

The Clippers clearly need that top 10 pick, via Detroit, more than the 76ers do.

I don't think we overtake the Cavs, but...Sixers have won 7 straight now so anything is possible I guess.

If you agree not to take Mikal Bridges, I'll allow it!
I want Sexton or Gilgeous-Alexander with the Detroit pick, if we get it, and then a big with our own.

LiJan Ball just through his hat in the ring for the draft. Don't you want your team to be big ballers?

The Sixers will likely be favored in every game left except maybe the Cavs game and I would say that if they win 4 of their next 5 or all 5 they will be favored in that game as well.

Their schedule is very easy.

His pros vs. LeBron are not as substantial as his cons...imo

LeBron may cherry pick the times that he displays elite defensive abilities.

But, Harden is the quintessential one way player.

Plus, this is such a polarizing topic because of our perception of what this award represents.

Is it the award for the best player or the player that is most valuable to his particular franchise?

I personally think LeBron is both.

Take him off the Cavs, they are playing for pingpong balls.

Houston with Paul would still make the playoffs.

Lebron is still the best player in the league. So if MVP were based on that then he would win every year.

But it isn't so he doesn't.

Houston is going to wind up with the best record in the league and likely the favorites to win the title. Harden is the best player on the best team and his numbers are comparable to Lebron's so he's going to win it.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but there is a bit of a difference between making the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed and having the best record in the NBA. Knock off the best player from most teams and their WIN% tends to drop.

As flyerhawk mentioned, I also believe LBJ is the best player in the league.
But, and the stats back this up, based on the way that HOU plays and how Harden is utilized, he is my MVP.

This is why I wish the NBA would go to 2 awards. Most Valuable Player and Most Outstanding Player.

Most Valuable Player would go to the guy who means the most to his team.

Most Outstanding Player would go the best player in the league.
Some years, it might be the same guy. Other years, it might not.

They're at 44 wins. They have 8 games left and should be favored in at least six, with the two tough ones being Cleveland and Milwaukee, which are winnable.

A 6-2 finish and 50 is looking possible. They are now at 8 wins straight and looking pretty darn good. Five straight games with 30+ team assists.
