Whit Merrifield hasn't struck out. Guess him and his 38 wRC+ are one of the best hitters in baseball.

Extreme example there.

Last year the Astros struck out less than any other team in the Majors, and they had a top offense and won the WS.

I don't care what the analytics say, putting the ball in play is better than striking out.

How many batters reach on an error every year compared to those that reach base via dropped third strike?

To me, striking out looking is the worst thing you can do as a hitter.

Put the damn ball in play, and you should be embarrassed every time you strikeout.

Freddie Freeman has only struck out 3 times this season.

He leads the league in runs, walks, OBP, OPS, OPS+ and is hitting over .400, and hitting like .800 with RISP.

Put the ball in play.

I don't think analytics ever said otherwise?

Remember when striking out 100 times in a season was embarrassing to a player. They sometimes would sit out the last game of the season if they were at 99 k's just to avoid 100. Now if you ' only" strikeout 100 times you're considered a contact hitter. Where have you gone Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs....
