It has to be the ultimate tie-breaker between Ohio State and Alabama and whoever else is being considered, right.

We already saw that game.

Of course you have to adjust your thinking away from what the Committee is looking for, from "the 4 best teams" to "finding the best team in the nation"

I know it's hard for people.

Because OSU couldn't defend their home field, and then suffered a 31 point beatdown to a 5 loss team @ Iowa?

I do think marketing will have a say in this, as Bama and Georgia haven't played.

1 loss > 2 losses. However the 2 loss team is a conf champ. and Bama is Bama so they will most likely select Bama.

If the committee shuts out the B1G champion for the second year in a row it will be it's undoing.

That's a good point, but does having two teams from the same conf sway opinions?

As long as they are in the same bracket, I've got no problem with it.

Georgia got to redeem itself against Auburn. Bama can't play Auburn again, but they can redeem themselves against Georgia.

I agree, but it won't happen. For that to be the case, one of two things would have to happen.

1. Rank UGA #1 over Clemson who had a blowout win of their own
2. Move OU down to #4 after their blowout win

I just don't see either happening.

The B1G has had a team in the CFP every year, including last year, even though it wasn’t the B1G Champ.

I think the only thing this year will do is make them think of expanding to 8 teams and making the conference championship games mean something (winner gets a spot in the CFP)

Yeah. Things would have to be manipulated. That's why we have a committee, right?

Very true. They have taken some liberties with their final rankings over the years, but that would be the biggest by far.

They did, but that's because of the conf champ game.. which maybe should be done away with, but that's an argument for another day. Anyways, Bama not playing UGA would be a bigger deal if they didn't play some of the same teams. At the end of the day, I don't think you can say much for Bama's resume. Auburn was really the only big game on their schedule and they were solidly beat... Auburn then turns right around and looks horrible against UGA. It's going to be a tough decision because both OSU and Bama can't make much of a case as to why they should be in.

I think USC has the same argument as OSU. They are afterall conference champs with 2 losses.

I agree. I'm not sure why USC is being left out. Both ended the season with wins and both won their conference. I get that Bama is a good to great team every season, but this year we're arguing that the 3rd best team in the SEC should get in?
