During the draft I was bragging on the 76ers non stop but I have to admit what I see. I think we can all agree Embiid will be great IF he can stay healthy and Ben Simmons is looking like a baller too BUT, and I know its early, Fultz is all really looking like a bust. Slow, cant shoot, cant defend, hesitant. We lost a potentially nice pick on top of selecting him.

Got to man up and admit I was wrong.

You overreacted before and you're overreacting again. The 76ers are 3 games into the season. They've effectively got 2 rookies playing large amounts of minutes. It's going to take some time for the team to gel.

As others have pointed out, there is more than meets the eye going on with Fultz. In 6 months, you might be "manning up" again and admitting you were wrong again. You've got to let it play out a little longer.

What are some examples of players who played on bad teams in college (as the best player / leader of the team)... but then ended up becoming stars in the NBA?

THAT has always been my concern with Fultz. As a pac-12 fan... every time I saw him play it was just so underwhelming. I'm not expecting him to take a bad Washington team to deep into the tourney... but losing 12 straight conference games and not even being competitive in any of them... how is that possible for a future NBA star?

Paul George, at the very least. There are probably others, including Fultz's teammate Ben Simmons. Not sure it's really a meaningful measure of NBA success.

Ah, Paul George, that's a good one.

Embiid with 30. Simmons with a triple double.

And this is why the Sixers should be really careful with Fultz. They don't need him to be a big contributor right now.

It sounds like Fultz is being coy with the Sixers coaching staff about his injury. But it seems pretty clear that he isn't right.

From what sparhawk posted, it sounds like they made major changes to his shooting form and that it's going to take at least a month or so for him to work out the kinks. He's not there yet, not even close.

Even if it's changes to his shooting form... by all appearances, they made his shooting form worse!

Agreed and I think he's got no confidence in it right now. I'm willing to give it time.

In news that should surprise no one the shoulder injury is more than a minor thing..

Fultz had shoulder drained, to visit specialist
"Markelle had a shoulder injury and fluid drained out of the back of his shoulder," agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN. "He literally cannot raise up his arms to shoot the basketball. He decided to try and fight through the pain to help the team. He has a great attitude. We are committed to finding a solution to get Markelle back to 100 percent."

I'm guessing that Fultz has basically been lying to the coaches about his shoulder.

He needs to sit for a while and get that shoulder better.

While disturbing, it is nice to know that this is a physical problem and not a mental problem.
Explain why he has been reluctant to shoot from the outside.
Question now becomes how does he heal faster? Resting or playing?
Again, as stated before, hard to believe the shoulder gets better while playing, given that he could injure it while going for a loose ball, taking a hard hit on a screen, etc.
Get him healthy.

Ok, so something is physically wrong with Fultz...

Why the hell is he out there playing? Everyone can see he is off... yet Fultz 'fibbing to the coaches' so he can play is supposed to excuse the Philly coaching and medical staff from doing their job and pulling him off the floor??

It's ridiculous.

He's hurt. It's obvious. Tell his @ss to sit down and heal... it's that simple.

It's strange for sure. But it's only been 3 games. And they had very little to go on during summer league and preseason.

Honestly, though... how much info do they need?... all anyone has to do is watch the guy take a foul shot.

I hear ya. And none of us know all the details. It does seem strange. But if he was emphatically saying that he was fine then maybe they figured he would play through it.

I don't think it is a coincidence that reports started coming out that Fultz might get shut down for a bit and now his agent is explaining why.

I read today that Fultz says his shoulder is hurt. He's not even attempting jump shots because of it. Why the fuck is Philly playing him? You can absolutely wreck a kid working on his shooting motion with a bum shoulder. They still won't play Embiid on back to backs but Fultz is a full go? That's just fucking stupid

The process tho.

A hang nail gets 2 weeks with the Sixers, a bad shoulder...see you next year Markelle.

LOL. I doubt it. We are in a different phase. The objective this year is to be a playoff team and shelving your No. 1 pick will make it that much harder. There was a reason to shelve Embiid and Simmons last year.

Although I do get the pessimism. LOL.
