I had an idea for this Ezekiel Elliott suspension.

It's 6 games. Instead of suspending him 6 straight games whenever that begins why not suspend him for all 6 division games? Would that not send a more powerful message? That could cost your team a playoff spot even more. If it's 8 games he could miss the first 2 non-division games and then the 6 division games. Just a thought. I would put this in place for all players not just Elliott. If this were in play now Elliott would be ineligible for weeks 1, 8, 11, 13, 14, and 17. 3 of their 5 final opponents are within the division.

I like this idea. Not just for this case, specifically, but in general for suspensions.

It brings more bang to the table in regards to how it hurts the team, and not just the player. I know the NCAA has done this with coaches in recent years, by suspending them from coaching league games.

The Dallas running game will not suffer much if at all. The biggest issue they face is not offense, it's defense, and Zeke doesn't play defense.
