According to the Los Angeles Times, he is said to be the purest point guard and the best and is expected to be guaranteed with his non-guaranteed contract at 500K a year. So far every one likes his assists, not to many shots and a great facilitator. Russell the Lakers future franchise point guard could then come off the bench and be developed more naturally

Really liked what I saw out of Huertas. He has some Nash to his game and is a pass first pg. I agree about him starting to bring Russell along a little more slowly. Seemed to work pretty well when the Lakers did the same with Kobe.

We will get to see more of Heurtas tomorrow night when GS comes to the Staples Center and the game is nationally televised on TNT. Maybe Jamie Maggio will make a halftime appearance. Whohew!!

I quite like Heurtas coming off the bench though. He seems to click really well with Swaggy.

With Huertas, Swaggy and Williams coming off the bench, we'll finally have a great 2nd unit again.

On a different note, it looks like the final spot will be either Brown or Metta Nut Case and as much as I like Nut Case, I think we have to go with the youth and continue to develop the young guys for tomorrows game

On the Upshaw situation, the Lakers are hoping he clears waivers and can be put into the D League - He very rough and with a full season in the D League could be a good player by next year - We have to remember he got kicked out of two colleges and is still rough. I think the Lakers are hoping that next year they can pick him after he has had some work and developing done
