This has nothing to do with immigrants. Soccer has the highest participation of any sport in America.

As long as you have scores of 0-0, 1-0, 2-1 and 3-0 is considered a blow out, there is no chance in hell of soccer becoming the number one sport in the USA.

I'm open-minded, but the problem thus far is that WC has had some unspectacular games following up on some initial exciting ones.

Wasn't there a 30-for-30 espn special in the last few years about how a big push was made to invigorate USA with soccer in the last 30 years? I think that could be repeated.. with the same results. Initial interest and, after a period of lackluster performances, it goes dormant again for the masses raised on NFL, NBA and MLB.

Soccer will NEVER over take Football. Only reason it's big world wide is it cost nothing to play. All you need is two guys and a ball. Poor people across the world play it. If these same soccer living countries could afford to play Peewee football soccer would take a big tumble in popularity.
