That's great to hear. If he keeps his head right, his life should be awesome from now on.

However, if he chooses a physical education degree I swear I'll go to Idaho and kill him myself. lol

The NCAA still has 4 years or more to mess this up.

Glad the NCAA finally made a good decision

I'm hoping he'll turn out to be a good player, he will definitely have a chip on his shoulder.

I read his story earlier today. Good to see the NCAA get it right in this case. Hope the kid takes this and does something great with it.

:wtf2:USC got in all kinds of trouble for providing a home for a kid. Now the NCAA says it's okay?:noidea:

Seriously though, good for them for getting it right for a change. Glad Boise looked to help the kid and that the NCAA is allowing it.

Kudos to Antoine Turner. He sounds like he is trying to live life the best he possibly can.

Kudos to the reporter for making the story.

Kudos to Boise State and the NCAA for doing it right.

I am a fan.

Thanks for the post Charlie42s.

I agree with MandB though, the NCAA still has four or five years to muck it up.

It is the right thing to do. That makes it a good thing.

I feel for this kid and I'm certainly wishing him well, but this is setting a dangerous precedent. In time these amatuer athletes will be paid to play, probably sooner rather than later. But these kids already get a free education and the opportunity to earn a degree. That alone could be worth in the 10s if not 100s of thousands of dollars depending upon on the institution. Oh, they also get free room and board, free meals, and are provided with free health care coverage. That is plenty in this man's opinion.

I do love this kid's attitude though, especially considering everything he's been through. He basically said he doesn't believe in college players being paid to play and wouldn't expect a nickel. He's simply excited to get his career kicked off at Boise and feels extremely blessed that the NCAA allowed for this to happen and also extremely blessed to reap all of the benefits that he will be granted shortly here, benefits that he didn't get when he was in junior college in California.
