We lost like 5 assistant coaches this year (RB, DC, ST, fired LB coach, and S&C), C Fitz is the one that worries me the most. Guy is charismatic, energetic, intense, and just flat knows his stuff - came to us from Harvard. OTOH, John Butler, the other coach you guys poached from us, didn't do much for us on special teams.

Apparently, the former S&C guy from Penn St. mainly trained endurance, and only had his guys working machines (no barbells). I don't know if he'll stick with that approach, but if so, congratulations, Dawgs!

Yeah, but he's only an assistant. Joe T is still the head guy.

UGA also hired a "speed specialist" who previously was in a private practice with clients from HS to pro players. The budget was recently increased for the S&C program after showing huge improvements last year.

That's a good move. Training techniques for speed have vastly improved. Stephon Gilmore trained with one of these guys before the NFL draft, and ran a 4.4 at the combine (might go 1st round now). He had always been a mid-4.5 guy at USC. My guess is there will be a lot of SEC teams doing this.

Yep the videos I've seen of the new program got me hype as fuck, and Fitz is cool in person as well. Him and the dudes he brought with him just seem excited to be here and change shit up for once, which is exciting to see from a progam that's been in the stone ages.

JT had all positions on the same "high intensity" low weight / high rep program that a lot of people are happy to be rid of from what I've read.
