Serious question: If UVa is a sinking ship, what would you refer to VT as?

It's seems kind of obvious to me. VT is the big ship that ran over UVa.

Ofcourse VT was alittle overdue for a tuneup this year.

Wow. That was quick.

I guess they were worried about possibly losing recruits.

Interestingly enough, UVA's coaching staff has been getting older, while VT's coaching staff has been getting younger.

The previous staff was geared more towards bringing in solid recruiting classes. Now that UVa has managed to recruit Top 25 classes for what will be 3 straight years, the new coaching staff seems to be more geared towards coaching experience.

And when recruiting slows down change up the coaching again?

UVa's strategy. Solid line = recruiting prowess. Dashed line = coaching experience.

I think what UVa is trying to do can work. Bring the talent in, and then try to find the correct coaches to get the most out of the talent.

What are your thoughts on one of your highest rated recruits and best players being verbally pissed and apparently bad-mouthing the program. This is an honest question and I am sure you know who I am talking about. I hear that he is not happy and letting anyone that will listen to him know about it.

I honestly have no idea who/what you are talking about.

I'm actually kind of amazed with UVa's recruiting.

They manage to get decent recruits, in spite of performance on the field, and frankly, a lame environment for football.

This leads to lack of identity, and is silly IMO. you bring in good coaches, and then recruit around them for long term success.

You could do that in the past, but it's just not possible with today college football landscape. Everyone almost expects results now. In Beamer's first 6 seasons at VT, he was 25-40-1. With the way the game is today, no way Beamer would have gotten a pass with the way he did 20-25 years ago.

Hmm,

I don't want to mention names but you may want to dig around.

I dug a bit on twitter, but twitter was being ghey so I said fuck it. If it's big, I'm sure it will come out soon.
