Hearing rumors that our annual game will be the day after Thanksgiving this year, that's right, Black Friday.

Who cares?

Shopping is overrated. I'm sure people can work it into their schedules.

Cool by me. The greatest VT home game ever was on Black Friday (1999 BC)

Hey jeffro, are you excited about you guys hosting Oregon this year?

Not gonna lie, I'm skipping the Western Carolina Home game for VT to go to watch the Ducks in person.

Not at all. There is nothing UVa can gain by playing Oregon. The only thing it does in my opinion is it lets Oregon gain exposure for recruits on the East Coast.

Maybe that's what the Hoos are counting on. They're tired of being outnumbered by Hokies when they host this game.

Good! Gives the Hokies an extra day to prepare for the ACC Championship Game.

I agree. I saw an article about this game (might have been streaking the lawn) and one of the positives listed for having this game was that UVA might gain some exposure on the West coast recruiting wise, but I really don't think that is true. I'm not saying that just because it's UVA either. Even if VT had a home and home schedule against let's say UCLA, I highly doubt playing there once would all of the sudden give us a pull in Southern Cal recruits. Obviously it's different if you're a national power like Oregon, Bama, etc.

Can't imagine Mike London is happy either. I mean his job might be depending on this season so he needs all of the wins possible. (I personally think he needs to at least be bowl eligible this season to keep his job.)
Not saying Penn State would have been a definite W for UVA but Oregon will obviously be tougher to beat.

UVA would be doing good to keep it within 20-30 points vs. the Quack Attack.

Not a fan of playing on Friday. I always take the day off, but it is actually a working day. Really its all about family. Much easier for family issues watching a game on TV than leaving bright and early Friday. That's if you don't happen to have a family that actually celebrates T-giving on Friday. If you're out of state, I can't blame you if you're stuck too. I guess TV needs some replacements for the games that have been lost.

Another thing to think about when in Charlottesville is shoppers. 250 and 29 are a parking lot at times on game day. Also a parking lot at times during big shopping times. Combine the two and it will suck major balls. Not as much in issue in Blacksburg (although driving past Roanoke and Christiansburg will still be alittle worse than usual).

I prefer a Saturday afternoon start for this game.
