Yes, if for no other reason than to get the team into the full and normal rhythm of how the games go. They do need the rest and it does give the coaches time to go over their mistakes. It's a teachable moment. It can be as important to know how the players on the bubble can adjust at half time as anything else.

If the games mattered, this. But they should cut them in half and give an extra bye.

They keep score, stats, and W/L records though. They're still games but they barely mean anything
