Hard to argue with that. Seems like there's always major injuries and lackluster play (at least on offense) early on in the season while players struggle to get in rhythm and football shape. I think BB and PC (I know PC for sure) have both been penalized in the past for earlier workouts than usual?

Definitely a good idea. Not only from a football conditioning and preparation standpoint but the mental side of things too. Maybe avoid some of these off field incidents if they are working on football.

It will probably be a bargaining chip in the upcoming CBA negotiations. If the NFL wants more off-season player time, they're going to have to give the Players Association something substantial in return.

I totally agree. While I can understand not wanting to have players put on full pads and hit each other throughout the offseason, not letting players talk to the coaching staff during the offseason is ridiculous. Nothing wrong with meetings and some non contact work.
