South Bend Tribune, Eric Hansen had a good piece asking some hard truths about the way Kelly's run the team this year. They usually avoid the tough questions, but I hope this staff takes them to heart. Its the only way forward.

Also, the last line of that article you linked to raises an intersting point to those that continue to claim ND gets special treatment in college football. There is basically no difference if we finished 9-3 as expected had we won out until Stanford, and 8-4 or 7-5 as far as bowl options go. We either do well enough to get to a BCS or, because of conference tie-ins, get stuck with the low-hanging fruit bowl games. No Gator, Capital One, Cotton or other classic New Years Day type bowl game, its BCS or some crap fest bowl game before Christmas.

Middling conference teams get better options because of the conference tie ins. We basically force success on our program. Problem is, for decades, save last season, we haven't been able to meet those expectations.
