I've got Dallas at 9-7, primarily hinging on the success of their offense. If Dak can play game manager with success then I could see 10 wins. But he's not going to be a top 10 QB.
If Tyron Smith stays upright and healthy 10 wins is the bottom of the ladder and will be a disappointment.
There's 3 guys on offense the Cowboys CANT lose and they all play on the line.

His receivers weren't any good in 2016 either or are the same guys for this season. Minus Witten. I hope Dak sucks, that would make me lmao all year. I just don't think he will.

He will be a conservative, safe throw QB

Wont be great, wont be terrible, because he will never be in position to be either

The Browns fan has to be thinking 2014 Dez and a youthful Witten was on the field last season.

Youre so full of shit

For 3 years we would all sit on this board and tell you how much Dez sucked, and you would all cry

Now that he's gone, youre all so quick to tell us how he sucked anyway

I dont know how you draw that conclusion, but good luck
Dak was better his rookie year when Dez missed time and he just hit the open man....felt no burden to force the football to Dez. Dallas will employ more 4 wide receiver this year and play a lot of run pass option with Elliott in the back field. Williams will struggle to be the 4th wide receiver on this team and that is IF he makes the team. Optimism runs wild in July and I'm no different than any other fan. I think Dallas easily wins 10 games with health and challenges Philly for the division. We'll see how that all turns out. I'l sure many have book marked this thread...whole lotta head scathing stuff has been posted and I thought I'd add to the mix.

Certainly will help their case. It's going to be a long hard road for the Cowboys, but 9-10 wins seems feasible.

not me....I never said Dez was a top 10 wide receiver, horrible route runner and the jump ball game left him the last two seasons. Combine the drops and he had become a liability to the offense.

There is a reason why he's still on the street as camp nears

I can appreciate your optimism

I feel the same about my team, Giants have 3 game changers on offense, and an improved Oline and if their defense can revert to the way they played in 2016, I expect to be in the playoffs

nothing wrong with being a homer in July.

whats funny is a poster telling you how many games a team will win in July.
Wonder how many these guys thought Dallas would win in 2016 after the Romo preseason injury

Teams are going to go all-in against the run and dare the Cowboys to beat them deep.

Dak is the difference between them being a 6 win team and a 12 win team. I think if Dak doesn't get it done then you're going to see a new head coach in Dallas and maybe a new QB in 2019.

Well for 3 years he didn't suck. 2015 he was injured, he played OK in 16 but didn't play like he did pre injury. Age happens and players step off the edge of a cliff.
It's not being full of shit, it's being honest.

Yeah Dez hasn't really been productive/healthy since that season. Losing him wasn't a big deal IMO.

I mean, yeah, its the NFL. Every fan feels like their team should make the playoffs if everyone stays healthy.

Even Browns fans they they'll make it. Should be a good year for football.

Browns are loaded at key positions

Tyrod Taylor and Hue Jackson are my issues there

They remind me of the Jeff Fisher Rams right now. Lots of young talent, decent enough draft picks, no idea if the coaching and QBs are going to translate into wins.

true and Dallas may be good enough to run the ball with 8 in the box. The NFL is a numbers game and it's not so much beating a team deep, it's about drawing man coverage with 8 near the LOS. That requires good route runners and a guy that can stretch the field....things Dallas has this year moreso than previous years.

Time will tell and yes, many teams can point to the playoffs if the stars are aligned and many are just spewing hope.
Dallas will be a whole lot closer to the team in 2016 than the 2017 team and actually a contender for playoff advancement if their draft lands some contributors.

Time will tell this tale

I know against the Chiefs, probably the worst run D in the league last year, Dak was able to use Terrance Williams as a beater but he was also being covered by the Chiefs #2-4 CBs most of the time which were pretty terrible.

In a lot of ways, Dallas is kind of like a really awesome college team. You know they'll run the ball. You know they'll be at least good if the oline stays healthy. Everything else is just going to have to develop.

This is where you see the good coaches separate themselves from the bad ones, imo.

Watson and Garrappolo could easily but on there but need to see more. Also Luck needs to play before he's back on there.

I think where Dez will be missed is in the RedZone, this is why I wanted him to return at a reduced price. I don't know who's going to be the RZ target.
