Agreed. I think he'll end up a closer somewhere, perhaps here but that depends on Wilson's longevity of course.

He definitely could be a closer, but he's 2 years older than Wilson, so I don't think he will outlast him. Also it might just be my perception, but I've noticed that when Wilson's velocity is down around 93-95 (only when he's been used several days in a row,) he's still effective, but Casilla loses most of his effectiveness on days when his velocity is down. That being said, I agree completely that his stuff is just downright nasty!

I just realized, if we win this game it doesn't matter what the Pads do after...they have to sweep us in SF either way. Only difference is if they lose today and sweep us they force the one game playoff, vs winning outright. But they still gotta sweep.

Drew's got some range. He's no Tulo, but he's definitely showing what an asset a shortstop with a decent arm, terrific instincts, and great range can be.

Yeah, he's 30, I think he was an old castoff from the A's but I'm not entirely sure. But yes I was thinking the same thing about Wilson, if he demands a pretty steep contract (which he is in position to do which his current one is up,) then the Giants can show him that they have an house replacement for him if he wants to walk in either Casilla or Runzler. Hopefully they could use this to their advantage to keep Wilson around for as long as he's effective and affordable.
