Well, he must be hurt then, they pulled him after 36 ineffective pitches. So he's hurt. We need to use 2013 as a reload year, shut down anyone who could use the rest/healing/dieting time (Cain, Scutaro, Panda, etc), deal the pieces we won't want next year, and play for 2014. It's not even a debate anymore.

And it's fine, you gotta retool a team once in a while, this year is our turn

I would agree he has to be hurt and this goes beyond this start, has to be something that has been bothering him for awhile. We should find out after the game. Cain won't pitch again for awhile so the All Star Break will be huge for him and this bullpen.

It doesn't have to be huge, we are done this year. Focus on everyone's health, and retooling. It doesn't matter that they get rest or not for this year.

I just think it will give them rest which they (mainly the bullpen) needs. Won't have a huge effect on the season but our pen should be better because of it

Does nobody have any difinitive info on why Cain left todays game? While I agree the situation screams injury, it would be nice to know for 100% certain.
