Don't be a jabroni.
Last game of the 3 game trip, 0-2 so far. Canucks have slid a little recently but are so far ahead can absorb that mini skid. Oh what's that I see, a slump buster ahead? Well hello LA Kings who are again basically a .500 team sans the loser points.
Edmonton had lost 3 in a row and LA came to town, I'm expecting the same tonight especially with all the injuries. Still no word on Kempe, which is actually good news - if it was an immediate thing where he was done for a while he would have been put on LTIR so Bowlby could get more cap space to make a stupid trade. It's early and these things take time - I wasn't put in a cast when I broke my leg playing hockey in 2011 for almost 2 weeks, swelling and all that - so it's still possible but so far there is a possibility he could be back before the end of the season. I don't know how effective he would be though with ramp up time.
Which brings me to that, Game 59 so only 23 games left in the season. Every damn single point matters right now whether you have to lie, cheat or steal to get it. Do absolutely whatever is necessary to get the points. We mentioned "the will to win" and "dragging them into the fight ", we will see what this team is made of very shortly.
Kings and Nashville both tied with 68 points and Nashville holds WC2 but they're playing Minnesota in 5 minutes (ESPN+) and have won 6 in a row. They are charging and Minnesota isn't that good so keep an eye on this game on the ticker. They'll be well underway when the Kings play at 7pm but the Kings need 2 points in any fashion to keep WC1. IF ITS 1 point or less and the Predators win, welcome to WC2 with the Blues and Flames closing.
Kings will see Dempko tonight, he's sported a .953% against LA career. Won't be easy to score, he's a big man and good. I didn't even realize this but JT Miller has 81 freaking points including 30 goals...and he's their 2C. Meanwhile our boy Dunno just scored his first goal in a million years and has 11/22/33 points. Massive production disparity tonight my friends, the Canucks have weapons in Hughes, Miller, Boeser, Pettersson and even L3 Joseph is coming on.
Turcotte has moved to RW1 for tonight, he played the last 2 periods there against Calgary on Tuesday. Clarke practiced with PP2 today but is projected to be scratched unless they go 11F/7D in which case I expect Arty Retardy - back on L4, dude should be on another team honestly - to be the scratch. PLD will be centering L3 with Laferriere and JAD, this should be an offensive dynamo of a line.
Not feeling too hot about this one based on recent play as well as record. I'm calling a 3-0 Kings loss. I posted I felt last game was a season breaker and I fully believe it; I think the dagger slide is on.
Let's Go Kings!
