Free-agent RB Frank Gore has told people he will sign this week with the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told me and @caplannfl.

I like Gore. No problem with that signing at all.

I heard about Gore a few minutes ago as well ... sounds like he's an Eagle. Not sure on what we will be paying though. Orlando Franklin also sounding like a very good possibility. No word on McCourty ... going to put in a call to my bud Jim Kempski in a bit :)

Gore gets 7 mil in Guaranteed money, but not sure what the cap hit will be per year.

That will prove out to be a serious overpay for Gore. RB is definitely a buyers market this offseason with many vets with tread left on their tires. We will see some good backs sign for approximately $3MM guaranteed.

Gore is supposedly getting like $5 mil a year for two or three years.

Maxwell reportedly told an ESPN reporter who reached him by phone, "I am going to Philly." But Seattle is making a last second run.

I like Gore, but that does seem a bit steep of a price. Chip does get the consummate professional though who won't make mistakes, is one of the best pass protectors at his position and can still churn out yards. I also think we will draft a Back who can compete with Polk for the backup spot and learn under a borderline HOF like Gore.

Agree with everything here. Bit rich for my blood but we needed a player like him. A proven vet, a great locker room guy with high work ethic, someone others can look up. He still has some juice in those legs as well, and he should be fine in our RBBC to take the majority of snaps, but also get plenty of breaks as other Backs play their part. His pass protection is a thing of beauty -- living out here in the Bay Area and disliking the Niners very much, I've always respected and liked Frank Gore. He plays the game how you should, and he handles himself time a professional off the field. Hopefully he can be a mentor to Ameer Abdullah in the near future =)

Looks like Gore's 7.5 mil is spread out into the first 2 years. His cap hit will be between 4 and 5 mil.

Source on Saturday characterized OL Orlando Franklin to Chargers as "unofficially done." Continue to hear same.

We're going to get Maclin and McCourty :D…no room for Orlando Franklin - I'll happily take Stefen Wisniewski for less.

Sucks about Franklin, but it's a good Interior Linemen draft. The same can't be said for Safety ... so hopefully the Eagles turn their attention back to Defense.

Who do #Eagles have an interest in pairing with Byron Maxwell? Green Bay #Packers Tramon Williams, per source.

Can't overpay for an interior offensive lineman and still get McCourty and Maclin. Still some really good offensive lineman out there.
