Preds defenseman Francis Bouillon had an ice arena in Montreal named in his honor today.
Francis Bouillon Arena is located in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal, where he has worked tirelessly with less fortunate families, specifically youth through Youth Sports Hochelaga. Bouillon made news in the fall for helping the organization avoid bankruptcy, purchasing and renovating its building, and recently announced the establishment of the Bouillon-Begin Foundation with Steve Begin, who was also in the Predators organization in 2010-11.
Bouillon was raised in the Province of Quebec and spent the first part of his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens organization. Prior to turning pro, Bouillon was a standout defenseman with the Granby Predateurs of the QMJHL, helping Granby to the Memorial Cup title in 1996, ending a 25-year title drought for the QMJHL in Memorial Cup play.
