LOL what a joke, now that he has security he will go back to being the mediocre player he was in Colorado and Houston. Sure hope the cards dont think they stole someone back from them, he should put up the numbers that Heyward did but play a shitty center field.

And you're basing this on? Figments of your imagination? Heyward's regression is an anomaly. I think its much more likely that Heyward is better next year than Fowler being junk.

His stats with Chicago aren't vastly different than what they were with Colorado. Unless I'm missing something. Not a sabermetric guru.

Yeah, I think Heywards regression was just like Jon Lesters regression his first year of a big contract. Thats pressure and dealing with it. Look at Fowlers numbers in the past, he is basically a .260 hitter, a speed leadoff guy that cant steal bases that just got superstar money. I guess you can just keep this in mind if Fowler has a tough year in his first year of a big deal.

a .260 hitter, teens in stolen bases, and a below average center fielder in big parks.

In 2016, his hitting stats were significantly improved

After doing some research, I believe that is Marsha Warfield (the sassy bailiff from Night Court) who played a Dr. in Empty Nest. I'm awaiting confirmation from someone who actually watched the show, but for now I'm considering the mystery solved and getting on with my day.
Boy are you wrong.....

I'll accept it if I'm wrong, but don't fuck with me. I put a lot of time and effort into my research. Is it Roz from Night Court or is that the wife? It's hard to believe anyone could confuse those two, but the picture is small and the wife did have a short haircut at one time.

I think you're underestimating my vengeance for all those '80s references I never understood. All those hours... looking up members of Blondie that I never knew about. All those hours.... WASTED. I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE

This is a great signing by the Cards. Fowler is a great teammate, great leader, best plate discipline in MLB, GREAT OBP, switch hitter with a +.800 OPS from both sides, top 5 in the league in overall base running. I'm fucking bummed. Fowler was a huge difference maker for us at the top of the lineup

Its a possibility that Heyward's issues are mental but he has always had all of the tools and just doesn't always deliver. He struggled when he first came to the Cardinals, too, but they improved every month IIRC to the point where he was one of the Cardinals most dangerous hitters in the playoffs.

The reality is that this is a sub-par Free Agency period and the Cardinals got everything they could out of Matt Holliday. Any above average player in this market is an improvement here and Fowler likely fits into the Cardinals lineup perfectly.

The Cards don't really need superman in the outfield. They DO need another superman on the mound to compete with the Cubs but they are just going to have to get something out of Lynn of the young guys. The rise of the Cubs almost directly parallels the time period in which the Cardinals pitching staff fell apart. But Fowler is a big move and one that is fairly uncharacteristic of the Cardinals so I guess we'll have to see if it pans out.

Of course, there will be natural controversies on both sides. For me, it's PED accusations of rampant amphetamine use that sharpened my cognitive functionalities and posting abilities, and also the fact I have about 4,000 more posts than you. For you, it will be the fact that I was banned for nearly a year of posting time for a trumped up charge of calling an A's fan and moderator a "cocksucker," when you PM'ed me telling me to do it. As a 17 year old and minor at the time, the media is going to be all over the coercive power that you used to manipulate me before my brain had fully developed.

This is going to be better than Sosa v. McGwire
