In the strongest field yet this year. Rory, Spieth, Stenson, Kaymer all teed it up. Spieth won in runaway fashion in HI the week prior and may have been running on fumes. This was the season debut for MclRoy, but Rickie Fowler comes out on top by 1.

Even Fowler says he's got to bag a major before there is a 'Big 4' and I'd agree. I know the media wants it bad...understandably. It only became a 'Big 3' when Day took the PGA.

If it was just about majors...Bubba probably should be the 3rd spoke over even Day imo...big 3, big 4 IS mostly a media driven thing and it's always been that way...sometimes it's been legit as with the orig. big 3...other times they tried to force it, but if Rickie continues to win tourneys of any weight there will be a big 4. He's not the same, but has that Couples-like media easiness. Bubba is when he wants to be, other times, not.

Fowler hit it too damn good on #17 yesterday...driveable par 4, about 320 or so...water on the left, and long, bail out on the right...pures it right heart of the green but rolls all the way thru and into the hazard long...360 yd shot.

Anyway, makes bogey, 2nd place makes birdie...two shot swing...Lost in a playoff.

Not sure where he got this additional length from, but so far Fowler is playing the best of the young guns.

Spieth has won out of the gates in Hawaii, Fowler has 2 wins...Rory looked good in his final round last week, top 5 finish in his 2nd event of the yr I think. Day...eh...he might need another tourney or so to get sharp.

Should be good year.
