Just out of curiosity, how many ranked teams (finished ranked) did they play those years?

I think it's in my OP. I used final rankings.

If you take out the Hawaii's, Fresno St's, Nevada's, and TCU's who play similar conference foes, there's not many left.

Va Tech, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Georgia would probably be it. They're not beating undefeated or one loss P-5 teams like most title contenders have to do.

Va Tech lost to James Madison the following week. :L

2006? :L

They were (10-2) in 2000, (12-1) in 2002, (13-1) in 2003, and (11-1) in 2004.

How many "big named programs" can even come close to that in those years?

Nobody

Petersen took over in 2006. Compare Petersen to Boise's other coaches:

Petersen 92-12; 2-1 vs teams finishing top 10; 9-5 vs teams finishing ranked; 9-3 vs major schools; 40-11 vs bowl teams.

Hawkins 53-11; 0-3 vs teams finishing top 10; 2-5 vs teams finishing ranked; 2-7 vs major schools; 13-9 vs bowl teams.

Koetter 26-10; 0-0 vs teams finishing top 10; 0-0 vs teams finishing ranked; 0-4 vs major schools; 3-3 vs bowl teams.

Saying Boise State turned the corner in 2006 is justified.

If anybody is ripping on them it is you, right there in that post. :L

Hypocrite much?

Not hypocritical at all. YOu are trying to compare apples to oranges and do not even know it. THAT is the problem. ANd you cannot refute a SINGLE thing I posted in that post. Same era? NOPE! Same location? NOPE! Same Coaches? NOPE! You are trying to compare two things that cannot be compared. And actually I did not rip on them. I did not say they have a small stadium or anything of the sort. You on the other hand did.

There you go ripping on Boise again.

Cot dammit. They've gone (12-1), (13-1), (11-1), (13-0), (12-1), (14-0), (12-1), (12-1), and (11-2). They have a better winning %, beaten more ranked teams, won more, and been to as many or more BCS bowls than 90% of the SEC, Big XII, PAC, ACC, and Big 10 teams.

Location my ass. Like smilesid said the other day, "Even Alabama is afraid to schedule them".

Trying to prove your point by going with someone who is a BSU fan or twist my words is quite sad. I have never questioned their record, schedule, or winning %. I posted items that are completely factual and CANNOT be seen as subjective. Location matters, era matters, Coach matters, size of school matters, and so on. But have at it.

Quit being a bunch of greedy pricks and take whatever you can get. The same thing FSU did.

Boise St doesn't get games because they make crazy demands, not because people are scared of them. They expect home and home games, but then they also expect the other team to pay them like $1 million when they come to the other teams stadium as if they are a 1 and done paid team. Meanwhile, Boise St has nothing to offer the team on their visit to Idaho. They can't even sell out a less than 40k stadium, have no market, and isn't a good place for recruiting.

I have no pity for them. They don't really want a better schedule, they just want to pretend like they do while reaping the rewards.

They bitch about the BCS and yet the BCS rewarded them well beyond what they actually deserved.

Fuck em.

Just want to point out a little thing. They do not ask for 1 Mil for a home and home. FSU and BSU are exchanging a guaranteed 400k for their Home and Home. That mil is for a one and done which is the type of game most schools have requested of BSU. Even when WVU canceled the game with FSU tey contacted BSU and they did ask for a 1 mil payout due to short notice AND travel. Now that is until lately. More teams that are not out west seem to be willing to schedule them. Which will help BSU out.

He is wanting to show HOW BSU can go from "obscurity" to a national team. Like FSU did. The biggest difference is that FSU was an independent like many teams then. BSU is in a conference which limits the ability to play multiple upon multiple teams from the power 5 conferences each year. Easier to do it then than now. Between 1978 and 1991 there were 30 Independent teams. 3 of which are teams on the FSU list. Now there are only 4. Easier for those 4 teams to select schools and travel than it is for a team stuck in a conference.

I'm pretty sure they were previously asking for large amounts of cash on top of a home and home. I remember I couldn't believe what they were asking for while turning down games. $1 million for a 1 and done is not unreasonable, so that doesn't seem right to me. I wouldn't have thought anything wrong with that.

Maybe they've gotten the picture more now.

Pretty sure they wanted a mil from Nebraska for our home game, and nothing for us when we went there. I don't remember the details exactly, though. I think it was supposed to be a 2 for 1.

Very mature. He asked a legitimate question and you responded like a dick.

Good way to get respect.

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your faggot lovers feelings?

If it's too much information to digest, just stfu and move along to the next thread more to your liking instead of whining like a little bitch about it.

I have an idea. When he's done fucking himself in the ass, you can suck the shit off of it.

Like I'm looking for respect on a message board. :L

Where do they find you fucks?

I know what they agreed to with FSU and it is similar with their agreement with UVA. The 1 mil I know from two years ago. They may have been asking a large amount years ago, but like you said it seems they are understanding it more now.

To me a mil for one game is too much, but who am I?

I think you are underestimating FSU and Bowden. Yes, FSU played home and home with the "mid-majors" but when it came to the BIG boys they were one way tickets and FSU took them. Those are still the BIG boys
LSU 1H 7A
Nebraska 0H 4A
Ohio St. 0H 2A
Michigan 0H 2A
Oklahoma 0H 1A
These are teams on the list I said BSU should schedule.
FSU did and managed 1 home game vs 16 away games.

and if you want to include ND
Notre Dame 0H 1A
then it is 1 home game vs 17 away games.

I'm pretty sure these guys would manage to work BSU in for a one way game given a few years warning.

We all know that FSU and Bowden did the deed of travelling to get attention and build a program.

Nobody needs stats to know that fact.

Fact is, Boise doesn't have the back drop of the Florida recruiting grounds. While they missed a great opportunity to be a year in and maybe year out program, they face challenges that they are in Idaho and have no ties to a Power 5 conference.

Not sure why you feel the need to pick on Boise State. Yes, I'm pissed that they have drug Nebraska's name through the grinder in saying we wouldn't play them, but I still have respect for what they did the last decade.

Wins over Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Arizona State, Washington, and TCU this decade. Any program would be proud to have that W ledger on their resume.
